Stationmaster has you credited with one, Char.

Even though I didn't participate a lot, I too enjoyed reading everyone's guesses and seeing your pictures, Stationmaster. I think in some cases, the "not so great" answers were even funnier than the great ones - i.e., every song being "I Used To Be A Country Singer" for a while, according to JJ http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

See you once you've settled in the home, SM!

stationmaster 12-09-2004 11:35 PM

Hey charlene you did get one right! lol
My all time favourite was #120 "Now and Then"
A couple pics of Gord now and then on page 13

stationmaster 12-09-2004 11:45 PM

So, how far will this thread go? I don't think I will ever think up something to top this one!

but then again..........

Hey jj wanna do some editing? http://www.smilieland.com/graphics/shhh.gif Just kidding! http://www.smilieland.com/graphics/23f.gif

brink 12-09-2004 11:48 PM

Speaking of page 13, Waiting For Loo was great too.

I'm already going through withdrawal. This thread just ended a couple of days ago, and I'm jonesing for it...

brink 12-12-2004 01:20 PM

It was all consuming for nearly 4 months. Started on 8-12 ended 12-8. Well, SM has a little while to think up the next event. (hint, hint). Hey Laurel thanks for the answers, I could hear you in Washington screaming out the answers.

djb 12-12-2004 04:27 PM

Oh wow. I thought djb and bjb was the same person.

Ahh, but WE know who WE are, right bjb? http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

I had originally joined the group as David, then after being away for a bit I forgot my password. So I created djb without realizing we had a bjb in the group. Shortly thereafter I discovered that, in fact, I hadn't forgot my password after all. My username David seemed to be case sensitive and I had been trying with david. I think it's the side-effects of working too many night shifts.

So to make a short story not as short as it should be, djb just sort of stayed because my pc is set to log me into Corfid automatically, and I've never bothered to change it back.

So here it is:
djb = David = David from Orillia = David in Sweden = David from Orillia in Sweden = djb.

Got it, gang? If not, ask John Fowles. He knows for certain! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Before it gets too big!! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif Gotta go! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif this is a no-no! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/eek.gif

Sheryl Klein 12-12-2004 08:18 PM

David from Sweden -- your last name isn't Johnson, is it? ooops, nope, it's Bradford. I used to know a David who moved to Sweden with his sister, Mary, and they were very popular there on TV with their variety show dance acts.

hey, as i sadly found out, cockiness will get you nowhere in this game, although somehow lsh seemed to get by, lol http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif

well, really good guess cc but no go (hey, Stationmaster, no wonder you started this thread, there's a great feeling of power in THIS 'master' seat, lol)

it's "mr cool http://www.corfid.com/ubb/cool.gif coming along the walk of fame" ....APPT, it was...agh, too hard?

i thought we'd try end the thread with GL's swan song (debatable), but that likely won't happen, lol

LSH 12-16-2004 09:17 PM

Sigh. It's just not the same.
and really jj, was I cocky? I don't think so. Confident maybe....lol and I still got plenty wrong.

Sure Char. We all know that's how you count in Canada. 1, 2, 3, 4, 3, 4, 3, 4, 5...............

And that explains why you are only 39.

There is a story about Bubba the 22lb, 3 ft long lobster in the news today. The perfect picture for "Shellfish"

Perhaps Maybe Mr. Fowles can post the picture?

http://www.startribune.com/

yes of courseI can
and so could you have done if you follow my simple instructions:-
in this case you first need to find the actual picture. Your bland address of:- http://www.startribune.com/
was not really adequate as you then need to search for "Bubba" and end up at their sign in/register page then have to activate your account by clicking on the link in an
email from this secretive organisatrion
after that hastle you would then have to research and finally get to the desired page (no doubt you can only access this page if you take the trouble to register):- http://www.startribune.com/stories/1451/5268754.html
and lo and behold there is "Bubba" at least a small picture of
"Bubba and a smaller friend"
necessitating clicking on yet another link to obtain the full sized picture:-
right clicking on this picture and selecting "propertiies" will reveal the picture's actual URL address which happens to be:- http://www.startribune.com/stonline/...ster0303.l.jpg
All you do then is add the requisite "UBB" tags after it and bingo the picture of our Bubba
should appear when you post the message
http://www.startribune.com/stonline/...ster0303.l.jpg
Caption
Bubba, left, a lobster pulled from the waters off Nantucket, Mass., is seen in a tank beside an average-size 1 1/2 pound lobster at Wholey's fish market in Pittsburgh.
Phew
on second thoughts I doubt if you would have had the time and/or patience to get that far!!
John Fowles
Always ready to rise to a challenge!!
