"Betty Called Me In"? Just get a photo of Betty Rubble or Rosie O'Donnell as Betty with her hand up to her mouth. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
(Sorry,no pic from me,I'm lousy at that. ...and don't aske me if Wilma or Betty is sexier...puh-lease! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

I have two guesses and I know one of them is right! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif It's either,"Leaves Of Grass" or "Bitter Green" (which is what the grass would be if you ate it! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif ) I'm 99% sure of myself. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/wink.gif

stationmaster 08-14-2004 11:16 PM

Which one "B" ?

Borderstone 08-14-2004 11:40 PM

I'll go with "Leaves Of Grass" (for $1000 Alex! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/biggrin.gif )

(by the way,you should have noted that you only get 1 guess.) http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

Leaves of Grass is correct for $1000

The Wreck, as Terry Clements would say.
otherwise known as The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

I think your "normal" life is interfering with the difficulty level of the questions.
Still fun though http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif

violet Blue Horse 08-15-2004 01:11 PM

The URL of the photo was a dead giveaway.

well All Right how about something rather different??
Congratulations on a most interesting and challenging topic SM.I immediately thought of a number of favo(u)rite puzzle pics from the most wonderful wedding present we could have hoped to receive back in 2000.
A few here will have heard and even seen the "Lightfoot Quilt" made for us by a team of friends and fellow fans (many from the chat room) that was presented to us in Gord's presence backstage after his August 4th 2000 concert in Norwalk CT. This quilt was made from 40 quilt squares in an assembly some 9 feet by 7 feet where each square was the contributor's interpretation of a Gord song title or content. the one that had most of us guessing the longest was
by "trail" (Neil Robideaux of New Hampshire). I will show it below but I must of necessity and to be fair to all of those who have not seen it either at Norwalk or in May 2001 at either the "Charbeque or backstage at Massey Hall declare that the following are therefore ineligible to guess
Chief Quilter and general dogsbody Jenney her capable assistant sundown17/Diane, and theb following contributors (who all saw pix of every square at the time) silverheels/Bruna,
sundreme/Erica,dot/Dorothea Kemp, jj/Jimmy Jones and Janice and any others from the Newsgroup who may be interloping here
http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/lightfoot/square20.jpg
I have some marvellous video footage showing Gord examining the whole quilt with glee as he identified each of his songs
You can just about hear him correctly saying the title of the song represented by the square above

1. Congratulations are in order to the Multi-colo(u)red horse ror succeeding in displaying a picture here 10/10 for that. but no points for not realising that her selected pic comes from an English site and
as its URL reveals is a pic of Yarmouth and presumably the remains of its castle. You should have been more subtle Violet and followed Laurel's perfected practice of saving the pic and uploading it to Sidney's Gord Home Page then creating a "notlong" replacement address as a disguise.
Constructive criticism OK??
Never Mind he/she who hesitates is lost eh??

Hey SM since your pic's URL is:-http://www.i17wideningstudy.com/asse...TI-Cropped.jpg
It doesn't take a rocket scientist to hazard an inspired guess.
So tada tada I'll go for Carefree Highway!!
SM Now howsabout you guessing my puzzle pic of the quilt square??
and Walter if you ain't got a new camera yet and want to emulate my "under the CFH sign" pic you had better do so PDQ as it looks like they might be planning to widen Interstate 17 and incorporate a flyover etc at that very place then what sort of sign wiil you be able to pose under???
Just tryin' to help
Same applies to our Laurel and others with that ambition!!!

LSH 08-15-2004 05:06 PM

I'm with Joveski on this one.

for the quilt, I'm guessing Something Very Special, since it's the only one I know of with a rosary in it.

stationmaster 08-15-2004 05:17 PM

no

LSH 08-15-2004 08:43 PM

so I take it this picture represents the whole song, not just the title? have the rules changed then?

could be The Mountains and Marian, but that's an awfully manly Marian...hmmm.
good one. I have to think...

where maps are contained and what's left of his brains...)
