Further to my initial reply
I just did a Google search for "rolling thunder Gordon lightfoot" and found several references including the following from this very site (corfid) 4. When Bob Dylan's Rolling Thunder Review rolled through Toronto, the party was at Lightfoot's in Rosedale. When Bobby Neuwirth threw his jacket into the fireplace, and smoke billowed up, Lightfoot began to worry that the party was getting out of hand Of more pertinent interest is a review of a Dylan bootleg 24=cd set at http://www.angelfire.com/wa/monicasdude/751201.htm which includes a list of participants and the songs they all performed including:- "Gordon Lightfoot: Race Among The Ruins, The Watchman's Gone, Sundown" and a review of it that says "rmd: A great 1975 RTR show highlighted by Dylan's three brilliant acoustic numbers and a wonderful Gordon Lightfoot set. Sound is very good to excellent for an audience tape of its vintage, with some glitches after the tape swaps, although the early part of the show is a bit muffled" Does anyone out there have this bootleg set?? What “has happened here” is that this board has a few representatives of that new breed of human spawned by the technology known as the Internet Bully. They are not, unfortunately, a rare breed. You will find one or two on just about every Internet list or board. They are sometimes, depending on the forum, referred to as “One Wayism People.”
Everyone knows from their childhood the standard schoolyard bully. But the Internet was the perfect hatching ground for a new breed of bully. The Internet Bully uses words as his or her weapon of choice rather than fists or blatant intimidation. Internet Bullies are often very literate, and knowledgeable people, but like schoolyard bullies, they lack in varying degrees that one important characteristic, self-knowledge. A sure sign of a bully is someone who can spew facts and figures, seems to know everything about everything but is woefully out of touch with him or herself to the point of being defensive when their beliefs are questioned. They cannot allow their own views to be questioned because they fear having to question those views themselves. A schoolyard bully is a child who lacks self-esteem, and the ability to feel another's pain. They are so out of touch with emotions that they often cannot recognize them, and they intuitively know they cannot allow themselves to feel something that might even further destroy their fragile self-esteem. They bully to make others hurt and cry so that they can feel superior and powerful, and sadly to try and push out the pain and loneliness of their lives and feel triumphant over their perceived losses. Internet Bullies thrive on trying to make others feel foolish, insignificant. They openly ridicule others and attempt to embarrass them. It is a bullying of words and emotions rather than fists and brawn. They are rarely capable of having a discussion without ridiculing others because they cannot allow other people to express views they do not agree with. They fear confronting themselves on any level and must make as much noise as often as possible to drown out any alternative views. Like the Schoolyard Bully they are severely lacking in self-esteem. They are pretty sad people. The only joy they find in Internet discussion is in being right, or making others feel bad. The part that I find most humorous about them is their ability to project onto others their most obvious faults. Projection, for some reason, seems to be the lifeblood of Internet Bullies. Projection is of course a totally blind occurrence in people and a clue to their innermost workings. The bully has no clue that they are projecting onto others their issues, and would vehemently deny it. They are not lying, they’re just not capable of recognizing what they are doing. There are a few schools of thought on projection. Some believe it is an attempt by an individual to express subconscious knowledge; they project onto others that which they cannot allow themselves to consciously express as an understand of themselves. Some believe it is simply the workings of a human blinded to their own faults. Still others believe it is a misguided, subconscious attempt to have those projected beliefs recognized as their own; in effect they want their cover to be blown. In short, Internet Bullies are obnoxious, they’re frustrating, but more than anything else they’re sad people busily engaged in trying to pump up their fragile self esteem at the expense of others. And there’s not much you can do about it because bullies are blind to their faults. They will continue to drive people away from the board, and there's nothing you will ever say to them that will have any effect.
