Happy Birthday to the greatest folk singer of all time, the legendary Gordon Lightfoot.

a toast (or a smoke, if that's more appropriate) to your continued good health and longevity.... we are the beneficiaries of your rare combination of talents.... i'm thankful for that and that, unlike Mozart, our time here on this planet has crossed paths

when we're gone, your timeless works will live on for new generations...on the other hand, perhaps someone will accidentally inhale a few of my scattered ashes:)

ps) char, maybe you could collapse all embedded Miguel vid stuff...nice to have newbie on board for the occasion but it's a bit dominant (especially for dial-uppers) on a thread that has nothing to do with covers...on that note, the one A1 cover to check out is YouTube - Gordon Lightfoot - Miguel (Cover)

The audience in Cheyenne sang Happy Birthday to Gord on the 16th. Gord then announced Mike's birthday was on Thursday and asked if we would sing Happy Birthday to Mike - he started it and we sang along. Mike was ever so grateful.

Remember last year at Massey (yes it's been a YEAR!) when he mentioned Mike's birthday? Very thoughtful of the boss..

If you really want to make sure you get it back (the book plate is a brilliant idea!), don't forget to include a self addressed stamped envelope to put it in. If you're in the states, make sure to put Canadian stamps on the return envelope!

Patybear, most monitors have an adjustment feature built in. Try finding it and choose brighten. Remember how you do it, so you can adjust it back if you need to.

It is usually a piece of paper that says This Book Belongs To: _______________ or you can have something else written on it.
Or it can be a metal piece also.
But, I could be wrong.

you can be book plates in card stores and book stores...it's just a piece of paper about 3 x 5- some sort of decoration (lots to choose from) and like Deby said it has 'This Book Belongs To: __________________________
You can ask Gordon to sign on the line..
lol

For the children at school, I use a big sticker from the local teacher supply store. I usually use Teddy Bear Stickers about 3"x4" because they come in pastel colours that are easy to write on. They do not have anything written on them so I can write my own message.

I like using stickers because they tend to adhere very well to all types of surfaces.
