got it, i mistook your newsgroup post as 1970 being a first concert (Lightfoot seniority)...that was when you first heard him on radio or perhaps LP

i fall into the Lightfoot juniority...my first 70s/80s concerts, he was pretty sauced...i didn't return until late 90s...but am sorry i missed the WFY tour

I'd heard him on the radio during the 60's but never paid attention until IYCRMM ...
He and Anne Murray were always on...

char, this thread (that sunk before all the 'long timers' appended their anecdotes) may have a few story bits of interest for mr bidini (or was it newland?)...anyhow, if it's too late, it was still fun to re-read some of these and bring sir J's neat programme images back to the top:)

weh

I don't know if this would be "early" GL, but I first saw him in November 1973 at John Carroll University in University Hts, Ohio, which is an Eastern suburb of Cleveland.

Just Gord, Rick & Terry.

I flat out LOVED it...so did my girl friend. He even sang my favorite "It's Worth Believn' ", which is the only time I saw him sing it.

The mostly "college" crowd was VERY enthusiastic.

I've been to a few over the years. Sacramento and San Francisco in the mid to late seventies. Northboro MA in the early 2000'nds; but the earliest I recollect was mid to late 60's at the McIntyre Arena in Shumacher Ont. Loved them all.

In a similar vein, I was always very impressed that Ford UK's best selling Cortina was for a while available as a GL model!!

I have never seen him with just the "trio". That must have been a great show. 1973 - they were babies!!
