John believes Ron's last name is JAMES....shhh..don't confuse him..
;)

I actually have and continue to have real big brain f....rts about Ron's name.

I have apologized to him profusely..

I cannot keep it strait..

I call him Ron James ...then Ron Jones then Ron James... its crazy in my head.
Even as I write this ...my head hurts. And without looking it up ...I can't even say what is correct.

My guess right now that its Ron Jones... Am I right?

..but i just don't know

Ma'am,

Why did you do that ? Mr. Jones was at the threshold of legendary status, and one of the best ways to achieve that is to have two different identities.

Re: Lightfoot Cover Show: Aurora, On, on May 2/09

How about this for a memory aid: Ron's first name has one vowel in common with his last name. Of course if "Ron" is short for "Ronald" then I guess this won't help much. Hmmn....

.... Aha! It's more than just the "o". Consider

if i were Ron i wouldnt be offended (other than RJones atleast two foot taller than the gnomish RJames!)...they are both fine Newfoundlanders...James similarily has a wonderfully clever mind and string material delivery....cheers

I remember his last name by thinking of "keeping up with the Jones's"
and when all fails I just say 'my favourite newf'..and there he is!
it worked on saturday night!
and there's also RJ...he's got multiple identities.

Wow! What an amazing fun gig and week long holiday this turned out to be.

An honor indeed it was to get to hang out and work with these wonderful and talented artists.

And to be there at the same table with Char, her daughter Lisa, my two sons, Liam and Greg, and my very special friend Eileen, who, together with her lovely family puts me up and also puts up with me when I travel to Toronto; could I really ask for more?

The show finished with all of us back on the stage together singing "Rich Man's Spiritual," and although I slept through most of the flight back to Vancouver, upon landing I woke with feeling like I was wearing the "long white robe and "golden slippers."

And last, but not least, my "smiling angel" was at the door to greet me when I arrived home.

Very blessed I am.

RJ.

Thanks Ron. You are a kind man and your humor is always an entertaining highlight for us on this site.

We need to connect sometime down the road.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

and my dear RJ played chauffeur for me and Lisa too - picking us up in Toronto and then driving us all the way home after the evening was over!
We had a wonderful time from the very moment we saw him till he pulled away from the house.
It was great to share the night with RJ's sons and his friend Eileen and I hope we can all get together again later this summer when RJ is back here..and maybe James can make it too..along with John and Paul and the gang.
We'll try to make it work out!
thanks RJ !!

Re: Lightfoot Cover Show: Aurora, On, on May 2/09

The pleasure was all mine Char and yes it would be wonderful to do it all again and hopefully make it a sort of tradition an keep it alive.

On another note, I recall when we returned from our little jaunt out to get food, Paul Bartlett was sitting on his stool playing Johann Sebastian Bach's "Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring."

This masterpiece of music I understand was a favorite of Red Shea and Paul plays it very beautifully.

I'm not sure if the cameras were rolling at that particular time but it really would be treat for the folks if that special moment was captured.

Cheers, RJ.

Re: Lightfoot Cover Show: Aurora, On, on May 2/09

if the cameras weren't rolling then we'll have to talk him into playing it the next time he gets together with John and John captures it on video for us..
that works for me...
;)

Re: Lightfoot Cover Show: Aurora, On, on May 2/09

Can each of you list the tunes you sang at the show in Aurora? and the tunes Paul's wife sang?

John - any more videos from the other camera that was running?
