Yes it is SH,

But most of us grew much better beards ( except the girls... well, now that I think of it, maybe not..lol ), right Bill.

Maybe a little better beard but the photo on the cover of DQ was my model for many years as the picture on my college (university?) ID card shows. Everyone I knew had a copy of that album or wanted to borrow mine. (I just checked my ID and Gord looked better, oops! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/frown.gif
Funny stuff.

I've never attempted to grow a beard, but my favourite album (by anyone!) will always be "summerside of life".

Ha Ha Ha... too funny Bill

This stuff evokes memories, that may be best left locked away, ( especially the girls with beards... lol )

Keep Smiling...

She's been lookin' like a queen in a sailor's dream
And she only needs a razor and some shavin' cream...

She's been lookin' like a queen in a sailor's dream
And she only needs a razor and some shavin' cream...
Sundown, you better beware,
If you don't get rid of that facial hair...

She's been lookin' like a queen in a sailor's dream
And she only needs a razor and some shavin' cream...
Sundown, you better beware,
If you don't get rid of that facial hair...

Sometimes I think she looks good
until I sober up and see what she really is...

Sometimes I think she's a him
So I get out the razor and give her a trim

joveski 05-23-2002 04:53 PM

i now remember the John Valby parody of sundown:

I can picture every scratchmark on her upper thighy,
but the zits on her.... were a big surprise

Going down you better beware
you might find an ant farm in her .... :)

After listening to the samples my favorite will be 'Waiting For You' but I half to get it first.

My favorite album has to be "Waiting for you". I think it shows GL at his most introspective and initmate best. Its a very mature album with personal themes, and fabulous melodies in it that are so attractive while being so sad in many ways too. The opening two tracks and closing two tracks are my favorites here, but the middle section is excellent too.

My next choices would have to be:
2) "Salute" (I absolutely love the songs "Romance" & "Biscuit City").
3) "East of Midnight".
4) "Don Quixote".
5) "Sundown".

My least favorites are "Cold on the Shoulder", and "Dream Street Rose". I guess GL seems to be forcing it a bit there on COTS (IMO), while DSR has too much of a 'country' feel to it I think...

Carolyn,

You can find his music through any major music outlet, either online or regular store. The bigger the store, the larger the selection usually. Even Walmart carries the occasional Lightfoot album. CD Universe, Amazon.com, BarnesandNoble.com etc. all carry his CDs. And early next year, he has a new CD being released, "Twenty" which we're all looking forward to.

OH My GOSH!:eek http://www.corfid.com/ubb/eek.gif A thread I haven't been in!! Until now. http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif Easy answer,"Sit Down Young Stranger" (or the other title if you like). This one's tops because while the other GL albums have songs I like a bit less than the others, there is no song on here that I don't like. Those of us the most familiar with GL know the songs on here and they pretty much speak for themselves. I prefer the real title because that's the way it was originally intended. Later! http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif
