Bill W,
The manager at Cerritos Center confirmed that they are negotiating to bring him in around that time, but that the date was not determined yet and the contract was not signed yet. They promised me a phone call when the deal was done. |

Thanks for the update. Bill http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif |

Bill http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif Actually, Pollstar isn't 100% accurate either. I've seen concerts move and even disappear from Pollstar's listings (including Lightfoot concerts). However, this isn't unusual. Some concert dates move around or even get cancelled after they are "announced". Pollstar only accept dates from "official sources" which usually means the artist's booking agent or management. Booking agents often announce dates for which contracts are not yet signed, but which are considered "solid". Venues almost never announce dates until everything is signed. So in most cases, when you see something at Pollstar, it will eventually show up in the venue's listings. Also, there is often another player - the promoter - and he or she might not want to announce the concert until closer to the performance date. ------------------ Valerie Magee Visit my business site at mageenet.biz, Hamilton Camp's Offical Web Site at hamiltoncamp.com , and Cathy Cowette's web site at cathycowette.com. As a matter of fact it was because of getting the pollstar notification that I was able to get the front row seats at The Keswick Theatre where we were all sitting. When I called the box office they even asked me how I knew the show was on, I told 'em pollstar told me ! They laughed but they sold me the tickets. Bill http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif |

brink, I don't think it's pushing too hard IMO he's got to get back up on the horse. And if he's feeling OK why not go for it ? It's nice to see concert listings popping up in my mailbox, wow. Bill http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif[/B] Yes, this is true, I just thought with that many shows back-to-back it might be a little harsh on him. Sometimes people just push the recovery too fast. But, it is in April another 7 months away. what can I say, I'm a mom we buy trouble. |

brink,
I do know why you're concerned, it's a Dad thing too, we just don't talk about it in public, LOL. But the good thing about an artist doing multiple shows at the same venue is that all the wear and tear of daily travel plans is ameliorated somewhat. I'm thinking he'll do fine and will probably schedule lots of off days. Just my opinion, I'm not an insider, LOL. Bill http://www.corfid.com/ubb/smile.gif Edited for spelling. It certainly seems like Pollstar knew more about the Cerritos concert than the venue did
yesterday because undoubtedly before "enigma" received the confirmatory phone call Newsgrouper Doug (plumguru) Kirk had phoned and was informed that "No but speaking of Gordon Lightfoot is he still around? I used to really like him and then he kind of fell off the radar. oug continued:-that was a couple of weeks ago. I tried again this morning and was told as of now the date was tentative and I should call again in December" se his full amusing and bemused report at:- http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=e...mb-m05.aol.com so perhaps Doug's phonecall woke them up?? But as Jenney pointed out to us on Sunday Wayne has removed the Massey May dates that were shown on his site.Anyone know anthing aboot that?? John Why is the third hand on a watch called the second hand?? |

I hope you're still doing the lottery. Looks like we're going to need that private jet after all! |
Does anyone know when the tix for the Orleans shows go on sale? My fool internet blocker here at work doesn't allow casino websites.
