Well just a brief synopsis of the evening:
About 50+ Lightheads met for dinner at City Grille...a hop, skip and a jump from Massey. I sat with Ann, Laura, Melanie and her boyfriend and shared some nice conversations and laughs :).
I skipped over to Massey ahead of everyone to pick up my ticket....only to find that my ticket was mistakenly assigned on Friday night instead of Sat :( I had an inkling even before leaving the restaurant that there was going to be a ticket issue. However, a cute guy who overheard this offered to let me sit on his lap ;) btw Canadian men are HOT
So just 10 minutes before showtime...ticket in hand and enough time for some quick hellos before I headed up to the balcony. A thrill to have the balcony seat...a different perspective from the floor seat I had on thurs. night.
Gordon was EXCELLENT :) very strong, smooth vocals!!! The orchestra was great:) as usual!! Nice to hear Song For a Winter's night which hadn't been played on Thurs. night. So nice to have a different set on each of these nights.
Gordon almost told the Elvis joke....but then told us that we all probably heard it before. I really don't mind hearing it over and over again ;) and the lady sitting next to me had never heard it since this was her 1st time seeing Gord.
The concert went by way too fast and for sure this was because Gordon wasn't talking to the audience as much as he had the other night I was there.
The after show gathering was packed -but I managed to have Gordon sign some photos I had printed up from Thurs night's show. I talked to Terry real quick and he did a re-check on the callouses on the fingers from my guitar playing. Probably not much difference from when he checked them Thurs. night and I got another nod of approval along with advice for filing them if they get to rough.
And some nice guitar-playing advice and callous checks from the great guitar-playing Corfidians I met :). The only Corfidians (or others for that matter) who have heard me play guitar are Yuri and Cathy :). I put a set of silk & steels on Yuri's Yamaha and I've been enjoying playing it much! Last night I went on youtube and learned to play/sing Luka Bloom's, "I am not at war" -it's very easy but was nice to learn something new to play.
I have gotten much encouragement for my guitar-playing over the last few months -though it's only for my own enjoyment...I appreciate it. Never had so many callous checks as I've had in Canada. I'm guessing at least 6 people during the last few days lol.
On a sad note - my beloved camera is nearing it's end :( and I wanted to cry when I was sitting there in the balcony and discovered that the button for the zoom and flash was shot. As it was the cover for the battery case had recently broken :(. So sadly, I don't have much for photos to share. A couple Yuri and Cathy will edit for me and we'll try to get them posted here.
Well I'm staying in Canada for a few more days which will give me plenty of time to return to my new favorite store...Canadian Tire :). Me. Cathy and Yuri are planning to take a ride along the shore sometime during the next couple fo days :).
That's about all I can write for now and will catch up with everybody here soon!
