Ah yes.......Jim Marshall of the Minnesota Vikings, a member of their famed "Purple People Eaters" defensive line in the 60's.

It's amazing that this to the best of our knoweledge this was the only time this had ever happened.


It's also interesting they had the actual TV or maybe even radio annoucer from this because I don't think most TV sports telecasts from this 60's were preserved, that's if they were even recorded in the first place.

Good point.

I remember several years back they were scrambling because they did not have recordings of teh first three Super Bowls because the ones they knew about had been tossed to make room for other things. I do believe that they were able to recover them.

I just learned this year that the furthest back they have an entire World Series game preserved in color is game 3 in 1969! That boggles my mind. I can remember watching World Series games in color at least 3 years earlier.
