It was a wicked wind and the rain was a-lashin' but that did not stop the Good Brothers from helping ease the month of March out more like a lamb than a lion.
And, yes, the presence of Gordon Lightfoot in the audience along with his joining the band for a final round of Alberta Bound at the end of the evening sure iced the cake.
From my perched point at the bar I could see that Gord was listening intently to the tunes as the band rolled them out.
The Good Brothers CD release recording "Wide Awake Dreamin'" was held at the Dakota Tavern in Toronto's West End, Saturday night, March 31st and not wanting to miss this important event I braved the late winter wind, headed out and was very happy to be there.

Having always been a fan of "The Goods" and being friends with their late manager, Jack Harper, there was many's a "passing of the jar and that old guitar" at jack and Helen's place in the wee hours after a gig in Toronto.
Bruce Good told me they were hoping to stage the event at "Hugh's Room" but had to re-schedule it due to the unfortunate closure of Hugh's, hence the Dakota Tavern became the choice of venue and it seemed to work quite well and it was a full house.
A pleasant surprise was the announcement that one song on the recording, "That Was Him (This Was Me)" was written with Bruce together with our late (and very good friend), Newfoundland singer/songwriter, Ron Hynes. The song was meant to be attribute to Ron.
The gig ran from 7 till 9PM and from there another band was preparing to set up so all in all it was a short but sweet event.
