Hardly worth a thread…( but then based on the quality of some we see here I probably shouldn’t apologise!)
I was aghast that when the juke box was replaced in my favoured drinking establishment , ( Club Berowra aka the Berowra RSL.) in outer Sydney , that Gordon had been replaced along with many other V worthy artists. The only songs on it previously were the Trilogy (recorded on a very low volume ) and barely audible when the place is full and IYCRM - ( which registers hardly a ripple on my list of his best tracks) . (That comment should stir some controversy here !)
As I was browsing the new playlist sans GL I stumbled across Toby Keith who I have a bit of a liking for and lo & behold a track listed called “Sundown” . I played it thinking it may not be the Sundown I was hoping for…but it was - and a great rendition too . In the wash – up I reckon I didn’t lose as much as I thought – this is recorded live and pretty loud. The patrons are going to hear this version for a while - I don’t tire of Sundown even if not sung by the great man.
