RICK: Welcome to Historic Deadwood, South Dakota, in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Personally, this area, to the west of Rapid City is one of my favorite places and 'best kept secrets' in the USA! We're appearing at the Event Center in the Deadwood Mountain Grand Resort and Casino. The original building is a big part of the Gold mining history of the area. The haze you see in the air is from the forest fires burning about 18 miles away.

Okay, I was there... what is this, like the 20th time I've seen him now?

I was wondering if the smoke in the air plus the altitude might not do well for Gordie. And it didn't. Twice he couldn't finish songs and had to stop singing and sit down near the end of the song and his wife then had to come onstage with the oxygen bottle. The first time he got some encouraging applause and cheers from the crowd. The second time... well, the band seemed a bit unsure what to do, they "jammed" on Baby Step Back for a while until they realized Gord wasn't going to finish the song and then buttoned it off.

I don't think it helped having the single 90 minute set format instead of the two sets with intermission.

My friend who went with me, she'd never seen Gord before but I told her what to expect - except for running out of steam on those two songs. (Has this happened before? I don't read every concert report like I used to) She said she felt so bad for Gord when he had those troubles, that she teared up.

No set list, as I didn't bring a notebook or pen with me, but there were no surprises in the song selections.

Andy T. Not taking a notebook and pen is not a problem. At top of General Discussion Main Menu, across from New Thread you will see that you are on Page 1 of 262, go to page 2 find Glasgow 2016. There you will find a post by John Fowles on how to over come such an oversight.

RICK: Hey Char,

Gord's fine!

The show was quite good and very well received by a very close to capacity audience.

I personally spoke to staff and management (after the show and the Casino style Meet-N-Greet), and all were thrilled with the evening and want to have us back sooner than later.

We sold much better than Clint Black the night before.
Glad to know that most of our fans are NOT like people who go to an auto race to see crashes.

I didn't mean to alarm anyone. I posted above after a long drive home during which I was barely staying awake at the wheel.

I should have said that Gord bounced back after those two songs that he had trouble on...

The main reason I went, was I had not seen him since Carter joined and I wanted to see how he did. (very well)

The crowd was pretty enthusiastic - it was definitely one of the most unique places I've seen Gord perform at... just a big room with a flat rectangle of seats in front of the stage, with a couple of bars (as in liquor) off to the side and rear.

I tried to take some photos but they didn't turn out any good.
