"Gary Luck here. The only two things I have in common with Gord are my initials!!! I have been doing Lightfoot songs since the mid eighties. I met Lightfoot after a gig in LA in 2001 and he was kind enough to spend 30 minutes with me even though it was very late (12.30am!!!) and he and the band had to travel to San Diego that same night/morning! He talked about his one and only Australian tour in 1974 and remarked that he was very jet lagged when he arrived in Melbourne and had to perform that same night. He was one of the most humble, courteous and polite gentle men I have ever met. I am glad that he got the strength back to at least travel back to the UK last month after 35 years!!! Anyway I have had a dream ever since knowing for sure that he would never make it back here of putting a show together and taking the Lightfoot Story around Australia. It is such a great story, as you know, not to mention the great music that goes with it! Someone should make a feature film about him like they did with Dylan and Cash. It would be a blockbuster if they included all the right elements ..."
