Quick report that I was pleasantly stunned to hear "Anything For Love" played on BBC Radio 2 yesterday morning. What a surprising choice! Radio 2 is the UK's most popular station with up to 8 million listeners. If that weren't enough, this afternoon they played "Daylight Katy"!!
Think that maybe the BBC have a new music controller! Good thing too, they hardly ever play Gord. If they play one tomorrow, i'll let you know!!!

Great Dan
My first reaction was to advise you to contact Noel Edmunds, because it was Noel then
a prominent Radio 2 DJ back in I suppose 1971 who by plating IYCRMM every day made it major UK hit
But when I googled Noel I found Much To My Surprise that he might be becoming the boss of the Beeb see:-

Good work! Listen to Radio 2 everyday at work, they might play IYCRMM or Sundown once a year, so 2 obscure tracks in 2 days cannot be a coincidence! Least I hope not!!

Dan O'Malley,

I have heard "Anything for Love" on the radio only once and it was in the late 1980s in a barber shop in Camberwell, Melbourne, Australia. And apart from "Sundown" and IYCRMM (both many times), the only other Lightfoot song I've heard on radio was TWOTEF (once, in 1986, at Lakes Entrance, 3 hours east of Melbourne). But in 1990 I recommended "Stay Loose" to the host of a discerning late-night music show and she bought the album it came from, loved the song and played it at the start of the next show.

Hmmm, wonder if next year's UK tour has reminded a few people in high places of Gord's existence? :-)
