Hi,
Would appreciate hearing if the Rockford IL show is postponed/canceled. I'm going and I have about a 5 hour drive to get there and a hotel booked.
So if anyone hears anything in the next few days regarding that show, I'd very much appreciate hearing about it.
And of course, hope Gord gets well soon.
Thanks,
Steve

You'd be best to call the venue on Monday if there's no word otherwise...I'd call for sure.. As of right now there's no notice at their website that the event is postponed.. http://coronadopac.org/events/?event_id=128

Thanks Char.
I was concerned because it appears there is nothing at the theater over the weekend or Monday and therefore the box office will not be open.
And I was confused about the BMO Bankcenter thing. I thought it meant an actual bank where one could walk in and buy tickets when the theater was closed. I now understand it's an arena with its own box office that also services the Coronado. So I will call the number on Monday and hopefully someone will know if the show is on.
Thanks,
Steve

I will be attending the Rockford show also, God and Gord willing! ha ha
Wish the was some heads-up word one way or the other as to whether the show is on or postponed. I've searched multiple sources and can not any info..., so I'm assuming that the show is on.

FROM RICK: A bump in the road. We've had to postpone and re-schedule the March dates of our 2015 tour schedule. Health issues must come first! We will "Press On" refreshed and rested sooner than later.
check venue websites for more info as it is posted re: reschedule/refunds etc.

RICK: RICK says:
it's Gord under the weather, the rest of us are just crazy - no known cure except to keep playin' music.
Sorry folks, I wasn't being evasive. Gord needs some rest and is doing better already. We're just looking at the big picture. We have a lot more to do down the road ..

We just learned that your upcoming event has been postponed:
Gordon Lightfoot
Coronado Performing Arts Center
Tuesday, March 17th at 8PM New date: To Be Announced!
Your original tickets are still good and will be honored once the new date is announced.
Gordon Lightfoot suffered an acute case of food poisoning over the weekend and is under doctor’s orders to recuperate. He extends his regrets to his fans and looks forward to performing in Rockford very soon. This event will be rescheduled; please hold on to your ticket as it will be valid for the new date. Representatives for Gordon Lightfoot just released a statement.
The Gordon Lightfoot concert scheduled for 8 p.m. Sunday March 22 at the Akron Civic Theater has been postponed due to his "acute illness."
Representatives say doctors expect a full recovery, however, they have issued a strict order of complete rest and recuperation for the next 7-14 days.
This show will be re-scheduled for April or May.

Lightfoot management issued this statement, “Last week, Mr. Lightfoot suffered an acute case of food poising that landed him in the hospital. He was released from the hospital on Friday (March 13). Over the weekend however, some of the acute symptoms returned and he was returned to doctors’ care for further evaluation. Doctors do expect a full recovery, however they have issued a strict order of complete rest and recuperation for the next 7-14 days. “

Oh my gosh!!!
I'm so glad to hear he's okay!
Doggone it, I really need to be on this board more often than I have been.
The worst could have happened and I would have found out in the worst possible way!
Has it been revealed what kind of food caused him to be ill? Dang man ,almost feels
like we're reliving 2002 all over again! Glad to know, it's not as serious as that was.
As for the concert dates, I'll stil be on the lookout for
Phoenix and or AZ itself. No hurry Gordon ,just keep yourself well.

PHONE CALL - STATEMENT FROM GORDON: Gordon just called me from his home (March 20,2015 @ 4:47 pm) and we had a grand chat.. He wants to say thanks for the well wishes and hi to all the fans. He also wants to clear up the issue of his recent illness. It was NOT food poisoning. He was very, very concerned that the restaurant would get a bad name and I assured him that there was never a mention of a restaurant name nor owner. He was pleased to hear that. I also told him that the food poisoning story came from one of the venues he was to be performing at when they spoke with fans who called and on their website. The health issue has been resolved, he was in hospital in Hamilton (where he was in 2002) for three days and is now doing great. He certainly sounded fabulous and full of energy and I told him so. I love to see his name on the Caller ID on the phone and TV ..makes my heart stop..lol.. It's always great to hear, "Hi Char!" It's me Gordon!..." especially when it's a SURPRISE call...
I mentioned to him what a beautiful first day of spring we're having here in TO and he seemed surprised it was the first day of spring. I said I remembered back in the day when March meant Lightfoot in Toronto at Massey Hall and i'd head there every year and see him but if i couldn't see him then a phone call on the first day was just as good.lol..he laffed and said he remembered those days but can't do massey every year anymore..

Wonderful news Char.
So good to hear this as the red alert was out for me when the food poisoning issue came up. That can be a very serious health matter especially in aging 70 year old's and I'm up there in that contentious category.
What a great guy he is though in showing such deep concern for the restaurant getting a bad name. That's class man.
Best news all over today. All is well that ends well.
Yes, I thought so too ... very thoughtful to worry about the restaurant's reputation when he had much more pressing things to be concerned about.
Get well soon, Gordon.

For a long time "food poisoning" has been a default "go to" explanation for various cancellations of public events. It's become so absurd that when one of the hosts of a program on one of Howard Stern's channels shows up on the air quite drunk, it's referred to as "food poisoning". So I thought that in Gord's case it was an unlikely event. Glad to hear he was on the mend as of a couple of days ago. His workout regimen is no doubt helping him to bounce back.

I was glad to read that it was not food poisoning. But then, I wonder, what was it?
If I may send along here, wishes for a solid recovery and hope that Mr. Lightfoot does not go back on tour prematurely. Heed the doctors orders, please. Those who want to see you on stage again will understand if it takes a while. :)
