With Gord's announcement of his upcoming marriage, I've been getting internet breaking news that his worth has skyrocket to $58 million (Canadian) due to his extensive touring and most nights being sold out or near-sold out. This is quite an accomplishment for any 75 year old. Anyone else seeing this info?

What happened to his previous marriage?
Why even bother considering he probably gone too much?

The info you saw was from a joke/parody site and shouldn't be taken seriously.
I remember reading something way back in 1977 or 1978 that Gordon was once quoted as saying, "I've made over five million in my lifetime, and I don't care who knows it."
Adjusting for inflation, that five million dollars is worth about 25 - 30 million today.
Add in return on his investments and ongoing royalty payments, plus residual earnings from touring, his net worth is probably a lot higher than $30 million, or even the $58 million figure quoted in the internet article.

So we've basically made a circle back around to the original article I read. If Gord was as frugal with the money he had after various overhead, as I've known my own relatives with Scottish roots to be, then he's managed to save a decent amount.

I would be over the moon if strangers were discussing my financial affairs on the internet.

I'm really more interested in when I can see him next in concert.
Have been to (I think) 15 shows since 1991.
Considering the Nov. 5 show in Carmel, IN
We know Gord has $$$. Doesn't the speculation on his $$$ seem more like food for the tabloids?????
Just sayin'
