This morning, while exercising, I was watching Mike and Mike on ESPN2. After a commercial break, a song by Kanye West was playing. The guy sitting in for Mike Greenberg, Ryan somebody, asked Mike Golic if he liked it.

"It's all right," Golic replied. "But he's no Gordon Lightfoot!"

Apparently Mr. Golic was at one of the recent shows, and was going to discuss it, but unfortunately I had to get ready for work.

Perhaps Char or Jenney would have more info ;)

Gordon has made a phone call to the show at one time. Both Mikes went to one of Gord's concerts in Conn. a couple years ago.

I know we have discussed Mike and Mike before, specifically the fact that Mike Golic is a Lightfoot fan.

It sounded as though Mike had attended at least one of the recent East Coast shows, and it would be cool if Char or Jenney or anyone else from here had met him. He's a big guy, he would have been difficult to miss ;)

When I met Gordon in Appleton WI in 2008, I also got to meet Tony Kubek. He looked like he could still go out and play shortstop, and he was super friendly.

I believe Tony Kubek is an old friend of Barry Keane's from back when Barry played ball before becoming a part of the Lightfoot orchestra. I am home and loading pics etc. onto my computer...

Yep, you're right, he was waiting to talk to Barry. I told him that he and Derek Jeter are the reasons I could never truly hate the Yankees ;)

I just found a picture from Mike Golic's Twitter feed (@espngolic) of him, his wife, his son, and Gordon at the Rhode Island show. They all look great!
