I met Liza Fromer, host of GLOBAL TV's morning show, after the June Lightfoot show in Kitchener and she told me she was heading to Lightfoot's home to do an interview with him that would air in the fall.
I have been in touch with her and she says the interview will air on Saturday Nov.17 on the GLOBAL show 16 x 9 @ 10 pm.
I will PVR it as that is the last Massey show and @ 10 Lightfoot is just getting ready to leave the stage...

Phew for me that was was a struggle because I had recently performed a full system recovery that did not include the Flash Player from the Adobe Sieve Company (purveyers of extremely leaky software that requires frequent upgrading to fix security leaks). So for me I found that watching both the 58 second preview and the full interview Initially both page links did nothing except impolitely insist that I install the latest sodden version of Flash Player this I had to do twice being careful to uncheck the insidious installation of Google Chrome and the inevitable unwanted flaming toolbar option. The first attempt made no difference and Flash Player was not listed in my programs the second time it rermembered to ask me to close my browser and installed correctly and only then would both pages load with a video display of Gord giving a very nice relaxed interview although he failed to correct the initial introduction's erroneous claim that his songs had been rercorded from "Elvis to Sinatra" it was.nice to see some clips of the Hawk and a brief glimpse of the exterior of Gord's mansion in Forest Hills.(see screenshot attached)
He ended with the sweet thought that he "wanted to leave a clean campsite when I'm gone"
Long may the the embers of his fire continue glowing

Thanks so much for posting this! That was one of the best video interviews I've ever seen. A rare glimpse around the "Light house", interviewing Ronnie Hawkins, a clip of Gord calling in to the station that was eulogizing him!
I haven't seen that program, or Liza before - I really liked her. Neat that, like another favourite interviewer, she had a personal connection to a Lightfoot tune.

Great interview. Glad they went ahead and posted it so we could see it before Massey-time.

"I want to leave a clean campsite when I get out of here..." - gonna remember that one....lol.
Good interview...
It must be nice to be able to puff around that nice pool table
Nothing really new but Liza is respectful as always. I think Gord has had 50,000 appreciative Canadians tell him that Beautiful was their wedding song. Love his 'dear dear dear' response:)
Either the narrator or I am out to lunch re: that comment at 8:40
nice to see the cheap lawnchair on the porch again:)
Gord and Liza both had a good hair days
I too listen to AM 640. Home of the Leafs
...still undefeated this season

I LOVED me my Mats... class act...deserves his HOF honour.
Classy production and an interviewer who handled it well. Most at ease I have seen him.

What a great interview. Have to agree, I've never seen Gord this relaxed, this animated in an interview. He's a true legend, and yet so humble and down to earth at the same time.
