View Full Version : My Love For You - Brian E - a cover, of a cover
the audio video frame rate seemed to go off as files crossed the border
wizard Bob said probably something to do with the exchange rate;)
i laid down piano, played back adding strings, then played back adding horns
simply sent it off and they did ALL the rest! talented boys they have out west:cool:

What an amazing collaboration guys! This fabulous stuff. Sheer perfection.
The endless surprises from our talented JJ keep getting better.
Excellent rendition of a beautiful song Brian.
RJ.
you consistently ooze with human kindness, ron.... oh, have a grand, safe trip!
i will make sure Bob gets your feedback...he was the Alan Parsons guy on this!
and the warm, understated bass was a tasty suggestion made by he and Brian
i can't find the GL clip from the 1983 Genies, but i did share it here years ago
i don't know if any downloaded it and want to put it up once again on u-tube:clap:

That was absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Brian, your range is so close to GL's, it almost sounded like him in his prime. J.J.; as I've stated before, you play beautifully.
The talent that exists on this board...I'm so impressed.
"red"
more nice comments, char and red:) Brian's voice is so honest and rich
for those interested in the process and production:
Bob really was the QB on this... versatile Brian was agreeable on tempo and key
Bob was skillfully able to take the 3 keyboard tracks I had already merged (see below) and correct and refine the mix and then record Brian's vocal magic
I sent along an additional horn track that Bob meshed in the latter section
and then Bob did a bunch more tasty visual editing and nasty synching:headbang:
...then he filled it out further with his warm bass ....voila, Bob's your uncle!
two countries united via a beautiful song that began as a cover Gord did himself:)

Les Pouliot was Red Shea's brother...its ironic that we used no lead guitar tracks
I don't come into the covers section very often...had no idea what I was missing. Love this!

I just wanted to say thanks to all for the kind comments.
This was a fun "cross border"
project, and JJ and Bob deserve all the credit.
I really love that piano and horn mix provided by my northern counterpart, and Bob can make anyone sound respectable!
Thanks again from down south.

well you darn well know that now we're expecting more from the 3 of you..so get to it!
;)
Lovely. Like a throwback to an early era. Takes me back to the early years of throwing on a stack of lightfoot LPs and plugging in the headphones
ahh, a "stack" of lps
the other day i was listening to the turntable and missing that old rod (my current record player doesnt have one) that allowed you to put many on at once. i loved the big Drop thunk sound!
so now i have to get up every 22 minutes (or so) to put on another lp, or flip sides
too much excercise is tough on the ticker...

Brian, your vibrato is hauntingly beautiful. Very sincere vocals. I hear alot of gord in your tone, but that's you, and I don't think anyone sounds quite like that. I still have chills.
Thanks JJ and a shout out to Bob. This is what Modern technology is truely meant for!
That sleath of synth strings towards the end is perfect. No wonder Brian gets so many hits and nods... Now I'm blushing...yes I'm JEALOUS!!! lol Seriously, thank you for sharing. And I want to talk to you sometime...
That sleath of synth strings towards the end is perfect..
thx, my Roland calls that a french horn tone...Bob rounded it off a bit, nicely
the synth strings start early and are subtle...it was a pretty quick arrangement
I'm sure you would really enjoy talking to Brian (and Bob)...we actually have never met or chatted...a face to face could be anti-climactic...it's all been foreplay

Thanks Robby. That was a fun project, although in all honesty JJ and Bob did all the work. Two very talented gentlemen to be sure.
I'm enjoying listening to your tunes as well, and I really like your version of "Miguel".
That's a tough one to pull off.
Keep that good music coming.
And JJ.."anti-climatic?" Thanks for the vote of confidence! LOL.
