Today is the third anniversary of the passing of Red Shea.

Red was Gord's lead guitar player in the early years and made a significant contribution to the sound and structure of Gord's compositions.

Red was in the band with John Stockfish on bass when I first heard them and that first impression will be forever in my mind.

Word has it that Gord's song "Minstrel of the Dawn" was written about Red.

"The Minstrel of the Dawn is here to make you laugh and bend your ear."

That would Red for sure.

RJ.

Thanks RJ for passing on this info. Gord does have a knack for hiring tasteful guitar players.

I so enjoy seeing Red in the '72 BBC concerts - just amazes me how he plays without looking at his guitar - and what a beautiful smile. It is sad that he is gone and Terry also but I look forward to seeing Carter, maybe at Jim Thorpe in the Fall.
