I spoke with Ron both outside after his interview and backstage. I also spent a few minutes backstage with Andy Kim..As Andy said they were both at a Lightfoot concert at the last Massey gigs in 2009 - and both are lovely to talk to.
Jeanne has been around the Toronto scene for a long time - Fashion TV has grown from a local show to a huge one around the world.

As soon as I heard the name Andy Kim a loud bell rang but for the life of me I could not place him.But after some suitable googling and youtubing I found that he had a monster hit in 1974 (number 1 in the States and number 2 in the UK) with this very familiar ditty

the blue suited dancer at the very beginning is I wager none less than
the doyen of BBC disk jockeys and long term presenter of Top of The
Pops Sir Jimmy Savile (who is now according to his wiki page an ancient
84 years young)
the wiki also says
"In 1960 he presented Tyne Tees Television's music programme Young
at Heart.
Although the show was broadcast in black and white, Savile dyed his
hair a different colour every week"

he is Canuck/Lebanese, i can't recall his birth name, yup, one of the 'good guys'

even older hits: Be My Baby & Baby I Love You I are quite similar and also familiar, and brought him in a few more buck$

I think that he, Tony Orlando and Humperdink all had the same hairstylist...

...I would like to one day hear a version of Carefree Highway, minus percussion

Again to spike brodertone's guns
Oops that wretched Jones feller posted comtemporaneously on similar lines whilst I was drafting my version.
Oh well two for the price of one (BOGO)

Andy Kim also cowrote The Archies megahit Sugar Sugar although it sounds suspiciously like Rock Me Gently played backwards?!!?

Andy was also known as Baron Longfellow for a while..
real name - Lebanese - Andrew Youakim
He told me he's lived in California for 30+ years. Terrific looking fellow!
LOVED all those pop hits back in the day...

In '74 he started channeling Neil Diamond and hasn't stopped since!

Sir John, JS may have been the "Doyen of BBC disc jockeys" but not any more. Since his death in 2011 he has been exposed as the worst kind of sexual predator.
