for samplers, here's a vintage ron jones segment from the pub jam
beginning with a stylish work of art created by son liam...love both

YouTube - ‪liam & ron jones‬‏

ron once again went all out  in pulling the aft pub event together

it was also a treat to witness the talents of John, PaulJ, Scott, PaulB, TG, Ed, Melissa, Kenyon, Rex and see so many cheery fans and old friends

myk was on top of audio issues:clap: and is trying to assist with a/v montage

this audio was simply captured directly from the camera hood mic

cheers and hope all get/got back home safely

It plays if I hover over the bottom thumbnails and click one. After that I have to reload this page and do the same thing.

Weird is right, lol. Probably happened during grueling and thankless char spam cleanup

The heading changed to 2009...the video I posted is from 48 hours ago, 2011

unsettled1 had a complimentary post that vanished

if myk gets the audio happening in the coming weeks it will be nice to listen to some of the tasty bass TG and Scott added, fun stuff

"WE LOVE THE WORK!"

I recall hearing Gord saying that from time to time at the concerts.

I kinda' feel comfortable by doing a "ditto" on that same sentence, honestly.
It's no secret though that there's some background juggling that goes into prepping the pub jam event and when it's over we look back and think of "the way things might have been."
But "after all is said and done," I am just another player the team and we all contribute in our own way because we love the work and we want to make it happen.
This event as I've discovered draws regular customers to the pub who just happened to be there when we first started having the pub jam and they tell me they keep looking forward to the next one.
It's clear that on my own I would never be able to pull this off and have it up and running to the degree it has without the players with me on the team.
My dear friends, I can't thank you enough for joining in with me and hopefully providing the same level of joy to others as this event has given to me.

Very sincerely,

Ron Jones.

Well thank you for being the glue that holds it all together, Ron. An informal event such as this can go off the rails pretty easily but your capable hosting makes it gel quite nicely. A fitting tribute to the great man himself.

Hi Folks - as the pub jams continue, the bugs do get worked out, Friday's arrival at the (darn-I should maybe let you know how I fit in here,I was the only person at the pub wearing oversided headphones and playing background guitar while RJ was doing his oratory-ring a bell -No-Ok how about the cranky looking old guy with the celtic cross on his T-shirt that got up and whispered something to Mellisa while she was playing-YUP thats me) -Ok my purpose was to record the session to provide JJ with audio for his video-even ran the session through in my home studio-making a comprehensive list of what was required-Referred to 2009 session-I have same make board (Canadian made-locally near Toronto)-Even sent emails to JJ and RJ of how things were going to 'work'-MADE fatal ASS-u-Me error-Pub Board slightly smaller than mine-no stereo-out for recording-YIKES I said to myself about 1:07 when I started to check-Luckly I was thinking entire weekend and packed extra's(like my mother always reminded me when I left the house -extra socks, undies and hanky!!-So in the end we have audio for the entire afternoon, perhaps not as 'clean' as first anticipated -but at first listen-hey not bad(there was a moment on Saturday Morning when I thought I would have to get Mr.Jones to call 911-could see recording levels-no sound-Panic attack where's my meds-take deep breath-didn't plug the headphones all way in!!!)-What I heard so far were snippets of Ron, Ed & Mellissa-to me goodbenchmaks to have-

JJ-will be intouch-about file transfer as we discussed-hopefully some can be done this week-nice to see ya again-sorry we could make Saturday-next time?
RJ-save trip home-always a pleasure to work with ya!
CHAR-a 1,000,000,000(I hope that's enough)-THANKS

**sigh** not a single (sniff) shout out for the audience, who without them it would be very, very quiet after a songs. :)

Great job Jimmy, as always. I am so happy you can make it in to be with us. Just think in 4 more Masseys - Harry will be old enough to drive and you can spend the whole day with us loonies.

Wow thanks for not getting on my case, Brian (there are already two lady posts taking care of that! Lol)

Char some defs also mean 'the best of it's kind' so I just meant it was Ron at his very best, imo Steady tempo, great key and phrasing, etc.

Deb I hope I meant the audience when I said cheery fans and old friends? :)

Ok I just did the math. Do they give drivers licensed in CO to 13 year olds? Lol
I know you can get a rifle when your 10 or when you open a new bank account but come on, driving is dangerous stuff! ;) last month he was still 6. But I like the way you think. I had a very old CPR spike to give you but them I thought you might end up on the no fly list. I'll send pic instead:)

Likewise, Char, catch you at an upcoming event I'm sure. It was nice to see someone dedicated to the sound issues so the players could concentrate on playing so thanks, mandomyk. And of course, the audience for listening.

Yep you can get a farm license at 13, then at 15 a real one and at 16 a totally legal license.

Yes you covered it with the cheery fans and "old" friends?? lol But I think my talent as a clapper is outstanding! Anne has her "whoop" Lori whistles, Donnie looks adorable.

See JJ, I am clapping for you! You spend some quality time on those recordings and doing it all for the sake of others =) What a guy!! Thank you again!

myk, thx for the ongoing huge file send(s)...here's a test audio synch clip (permission pending, but i really don't think this gal will mind, and should be rather proud;) )

i filed it as Unlisted & under Education because she's showing us how it's done!

thank you for the thought Bill yes my nogging hardly felt a thing after Susan inadvertently changed her mind about where to locate the chair for me to sit down upon. and it was my presence of mind that was bruised worse than my head in fact!!

Deb, you caught me up good on this one.

I know there was a recent post where I referenced the importance of audiences and how they sometimes are underestimated by entertainers. What an oversight!

What would we do and where would we go without you?

It was great having you there and also great to see you again. Your light shines brightly within our group.

Keep that switch on gal!

hey, can we get a pic up there of hard working Myk from Ottawa (instead of me)? i get lots of big thanks for this video stuff but without Myk doing his meticulous thing, you would only hear 1/2 music and the other 1/2 would be audience and waitress clinks, chatter, heads banging, etc, etc

another fine talent here

Ron,

I was just about to PM you when I saw this post. It was wonderful to meet you and your family too, quite a nice age range represented. We were impressed with the quality and quantity of the work at the pub. I told them "we'll just pop in and say hello" and as you know we stayed for the whole 3 hour show, couldn't bear to leave. We loved it!

Thanks again,

Bill :)

Thanks RJ, What a great time we all had! I told somebody that going to Massey was like going to a family reunion with only the relatives that you like :) It is certainly true for me. I look forward to the gatherings, visits and chats as much, if not more than the concerts. What a great group of people. Hope your trip to Vancouver was uneventful. Tell Liam he is an amazing talent (we'll be waiting for the prints). Richard in Nanaimo has the Gord picture Liam did for the raffle.....jealousy.
