Below are three “photographically challenged” snapshots that were taken in 1979. I’m hoping their less than stellar composition won’t completely detract from the experience of viewing them.

The first one shows him posing with a camera shy fan that’s been cropped from the photo. LOVE the profound message on the t-shirt.

While seated, he explained what a “navvy” was to a young man with regard to CRT. What was silly/funny was his response to a woman who asked him, “How do you want to be remembered?” and he said, “Why, am I going somewhere???”

In the last pic, some dude wearing a huge hat stepped in front of him just as I pressed down on the shutter. Because his back dominates the photo, I think of it as a “throwaway” but since Gordon is clearly visible on the left hand side, here it is.

As he chatted with folks and patiently signed autographs, I overheard him politely say, “I’m not sure what you’re going to do with these” and thought, “is he kidding!!!”

What’s interesting is that while these pictures were taken during what Gordon himself describes as being a “very difficult period” in his life, I saw no evidence of it that night. He was gracious and generous with his time, and I remember being so impressed that this remarkably talented man took the time to meet with fans after giving a truly wonderful performance that evening.

Good job posting Red! I knew you could do it!
lol
Gordon was on his way to adding a few more pounds and a bit more trouble in his life over the next few years but certainly seems to be enjoying himself ...
"Explore Canada's Arctic and freeze your ass" - yeah that used to be the national motto back in 1979..lol

Thanx! Followed your excellent, concise instructions and had no problem.

Was able to take my time, as EVERYTHING is shut down due to a massive snow storm -- no work, school, nothing!

Unfortunately, it’s now heading your way.

Believe it's slang for navigational engineers.

Thanks for posting these pics, redhead. Glad to hear that Gord was gracious and unassuming even then. Saying "I'm not sure what you're going to do with these" sounds like something he would say now. He does look heavier and happy, and I love the t!
