How about a brain-teaser, where did Gord mention a month in a song?
I'll start with:
A Passing Ship - April
Songs the Minstrel Sang - May & June
Black day in July
Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald-November

Gee Rick , this is toughie - I may have to go back and listen to ALL my Gord music again! Sounds like a winning situation. :) I shall be back.

good point, brink:)

i and some others might keep hushed on this one...we need to make a list of all the 'lyrical reference lists' we've made over the years

as far as i recall, we've had lyrics that mention:
Places
Names
Foods
Numbers
Months
Days of the Week
Years (maybe we haven't actually, unless it was part of the Numbers one)

...glad you got a brain stimulator going, bendrick...don't think we'll see SM again

enjoy:)

For me the most obvious one is of course simply "May I"

Oh yeah, it's just "May I". Duh.

He uses the word "may" in several songs but do they actually reference the MONTH?? I think that's the intent of the quiz?
hmmm...

A very good point Madam
LABG and I both strayed
Otherwise one could readily argue that all of Gord's songs are "August"
Meaning of august (adjective)
imposing; magnificent; grand

Four months ago in APRIL, on a day coach she came down...

Black day in JULY...

When the gales of NOVEMBER come early...

Lemon lilies at your door to give you in SEPTEMBER...

Mother, MAY I...

"A Passing Ship" also mentions October. "Circle of Steel" mentions Christmas but that technically doesn't count. A person could hit "Lightfoot.ca" and check the song lyrics...

Dad2mak, what is this lyric "Four months ago in APRIL, on a day coach she came down...
" from?

Yes, that was from GL's cover of Ian Tyson's song "Red Velvet."

Thanks, Mende I was trying to figure out where that came from. Love the line. Back to listening to everything Lightfoot and see if I can find another month in there. :)

I am surprised nobody has mentioned Wherefore And Why; he mentions 2 in the same verse.

So many times now, oh Lord I can't remember, if it's September or July

Thanks, Shut Up & Deal; also I realized the song Bossman had two references
to months.
Here's my revised list of Months mentioned in Gord's songs:
April 3 times
May 2 times
June 1 time
July 4 times
September 3 times
October 2 times
November 1 time
