Does anyone here know how to get a request to Gord? And if he would consider it? I have seen from recent setlists that "Home From the Forest" is in rotation on this tour. My bride sang this song to me (slightly adapted to suit) at our wedding last December just before she said her vows (http://www.flickr.com/photos/jamie_fred/4269607207/in/set-72157623335644470/).

We are attending the 11/9/10 show in Redding, CA at the Cascade Theatre, and would love to hear Gord sing this song. Anyone who knows how to pass this on, we'd be everlastingly grateful!

Thanks, Fred and Jamie

i check both char vids out before posting and even though it's further back, for some reason your audio capture seems finer in Hamilton...i think GL's vocal is also stronger...which makes sense, i think what you saw in Peterborough was the debut, no?:)

I think he did it once before Peterborough but Ronnie wasn't at that concert (maybe Kingston..i'd have to check Wayne's setlists) ..he was warming it up for him..lol

No it was not on the setlist for either Kingston

or Ottawa

and I am pretty sure that the first we heard about it was that it was debuted at Peterborough in the Hawk's honour

here is my take...GL played HFTF for first time in years in Peterborough with the Hawk there

you might be confusing that with GL's having warmed up the revival of MABM (have we ever used that one before? lol) a few gigs prior to the 'Kriss' gig

not sure, of course, but that may make sense

I think he mentioned in Peterborough that they had done it a night before or a couple of nights before...there's one night in Ottawa that Wayne doesn't have a setlist for...Could have been that night.
Or maybe he mentioned it in Hamilton that he did it the night before..lol
Brian was in Hamilton - Brian - do you remember? Dan..do you remember?
so long ago...memory's not so good..

Yes, it will be an excellent show. It is sold out. He has been playing HFTF almost every night. I have been at the last 4 concerts except for last night. We will be on our way to Redding soon. Gordon has sounded very strong and of course the band is the best band in the whole world. I will be handing out buttons tonight so look for me it you want one. Redding here we come.

It was nice to meet you and your husband, DSR! And, of course we're pleased Gordon played "our" song. I did not keep a setlist - I'm not as familiar with his entire repertoire as I'm sure many on this list are - I do recall highlights besides HFTF of Cotton Jenny, Beautiful, Edmund Fitzgerald, Canadian Railroad Trilogy, Rainy Day People, Carefree Highway, Ribbon of Darkness with a LONG pause before NOT singing the final "Over me" and instead breaking right into Sundown, and Song for a Winter's Night as the first encore. The sound was excellent in the venue, even in the back of the hall disabled "box seats" we were in (my wife is recovering from an injury) and Gord's vocals and guitar playing were strong. An excellent evening overall. Enjoy the rest of the tour!
