I love the last picture when he is standing on stage, soaking up the applause. If you can, enlarge the picture and check out the smile on GL's face.

Tha Akron, Ohio crowd loved him.... and GL appreciated it.

Great pictures Wes...
The concert was great!
Everyone had a very memorable time in our group.
It was wonderful once again to see him enjoying the ability to perform and have fans being gracious and grateful for his performance.
I for one was happy to hear "let it ride", he has a spirit with that song that I appreciate and would listen to a hundred times... wow!
He and the band nailed so many of the good songs. Then the synchronized drinking was the fun for the evening. The band members really admire Gord and they are an incredible team.
Then he went to great lengths to let the crowd know about the background behind
"If Children Had Wings".
Wonderful concert.
I bet you did enjoy that view Wes he was nearly in your lap!!!!!!

Thanks for the pictures Wes. I think you've captured all the Lightfoot facial expressions one can expect to see at a concert.

After seeing him Saturday night.... then looking at the pics, I see a lot of the "young" Lightfoot that I used to know.

Do you people see this also?

Sometimes, he looked a bit tired, but when he entered and left the stage, he still had that same "bouncey" walk that he had when he was younger.

His voice sounded 100% better than he did in Nashville this past March. Matter of fact, my daughter said he sounded better than he did two years ago when we saw him in West Virginia.

Great night... had a chance to talk with him after the concert and I did ask him what "stemming gold" means from Don Quixote. You might be surprised with the answer.

I definitely understand what you mean by his "bouncy walk". As he was leaving the stage in Montreal in March, he mis-stepped - possibly stubbed his toe on something. For one split second, my heart stopped because I know with certainty that I would have fallen flat on my face, but he caught himself with the ease & grace of a teenager & looked over his shoulder with a grin that could only be called "Cheeky".

Absolutely great pics Wes!! Geees, and I thought I had a great seat at the Kettering concert!! I bet from your seat, when he opened his mouth you could count the number of fillings he had...asuming he has fillings. Lol!

Please tell us what he meant by "stemming gold"!!...come on!

P.S. Also what I noticed during my concert experience at Kettering, is that Gord still plays the same two Gibson 12 string guitars and that same Martin D18 (I believe a D-18) that he played way back in the 70's! Amazing, most performers have a multitude of guitars that they play/collect through out the years, but Gord sticks with the same ones. So I guess, why change your equipment if it's working for you like it has him. Just my observations.

Moose,

I guess you would have to say he is a perfectionist... but that is why he sounds so good.

With the old guitars.... guess he is loyal to what got him where he is at. They had a link somewhere here to a guitar site that mentions all the different strings Gord uses. Never thought that much went into it, but that is why he is so good...

I really wasn't sitting that close for the concert. Second row seats after the "orchestra pit".... I have a 20-1 zoom lens on the camera so I got pretty close. Did not need a flash. I was really happy with the pics....

I am happy you all enjoyed them. He is something special to see. Sounded great.

It was a special night.

WES...! YOU were the guy behind and off to the right! We were in the middle of the orchestra pit, 11 rows back. It was a great concert! My wife & I enjoyed it.
This was after a very nice visit to Luigi's old world-type Italian eatery just up the street.

Luigi's, yum...
We used to hang out there a lot when I was a commercial art student up at Central Hower High School back in the 70's.
Good food and then an outstanding concert to follow.
Were you in the PIT or eleven rows back in the orchestra section?
Man, that pit looked crowded.
Gord did seem to enjoy himself, I was certainly enjoying myself as well.
If you ever get back into the city again and need a different kind of food try "Crave",
great food. Very modern music to settle your meal with while enjoying that good food.
