I thought surely Gord would be part of the Olympics. He is a Canadian icon after all.

Perhaps he refused an offer?

perhaps...certainly not a performance (unless any ideas as to an appropriate song) offer but i had mentioned in another thread he could have been help carry that flag in..anne murray was there representing the music category...i would have put GL behind Barbara Ann Scott so he wouldnt look so frail

Betty Fox got her moment last night at the wonderful opening ceremonies for the Paralympic Games...the crowd was really alive as were all those real young bubbly folks on the field who were a part of it all...btw, a normal version of O Canada was sung:)

i was also thinking those cross country ski poles would hurt if you got one in the ribs..i would leave at least 2 car lengths between me and the guy in front

there is a game on this aft...i want to see how they change on the fly:cool:

but wit aside...words, pics, videos cant convey how wonderful folks and their supporters are...and i bet they know how to party

I've seen a sledge hockey game at the rinks here in town and believe me it is amazing and scary. Those guys go full out and don't stop.
At a skills competition for able bodied NHL hockey players a record time around the rink was 14 seconds I think...a sledge hockey speed was 18 seconds.
It's very fast and there's no cheap shots to the head that Colin Campbell sanctions...

Makes regular hockey seem rather tame by comparison.
