i saw the reporter on tv the day of the fire talking about how much had been lost..hard to take.
great link - i'll have to spend more time investigating it.
For the conversion of personal film or slides I recommend the 'Wolverine' scanner. Got one for Christmas and it makes scanning 35mm B&W, Colour film and slides a breeze. Takes only seconds per photo and it saves to a secure digital card on the unit itself so you don't have to be near a computer to use it. Quality is great and the picture colour looks more vibrant than the ones I scanned one by one using a slide mount on a regular page scanner. Very versitle. Don't lose those precious memories
