From Red Shea to Terry Clemens

Does anyone know how much time it took to transition from Red Shea to Terry as GL's lead guitar?

Did Gordon go without touring for any length of time after Red stopped touring?

It must have taken a while for Terry to learn backup and fill-in riffs to all those songs!
