jjo, do you mean Giam? don't you get CBC radio out there?;)
he's now got a catalogue of vintage interviews rivaling Strombo. You'd like the Kreskin on and of course the Billy Bob classic, lol
You're gonna have to type in "giam" in the search function if you want to find prior threads where we chat about Giam...we can't be posting all the links to missed threads for you of we'll need a new forum called 'Links to stuff Jessie Joe missed", lol
ps) there is a thread that has a youtube video of a fan bonking Gord on the head with some artwork, you can see Gord's new manager in that clip

at one point in the interview you can see Bernie Fiedler sitting beside Lightfoot - Lightfoot's long time friend, promoter and owner of The Riverboat in Yorkville back in the 60's.

Yes well
The gent sitting in is too old to be the familiar tour manager Leslie,
Char must be correct it is no less than her friend the erstwhile Bernie Fiedler

That sure is some interview wow 43 fully filled minutes.
ther most recent comment was from
"daffydoug (http://www.corfid.com/user/daffydoug)
Gordon is an extraordinary poet/ master of words. I am amazed at how much different his singing voice is from his singing voice."
Presumably the first "singing" s/be "speaking"
There may be some here who would like to save a copy of this video as well as other youtube videos ( this is one of the extended length youtube videos that now includes a selection of complete movies)
to do so simply add "pwn" before youtube.com in the URL
you can get the URL by right clicking the title bar then
if you are using Internet Exploder click the right click menu item "copy shortcut"
this produces:-
YouTube - Gordon Lightfoot. A Q TV Exclusive (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKSGV00kXvE)
so then add pwn:
YouTube - Gordon Lightfoot. A Q TV Exclusive (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xKSGV00kXvE)
NOTE as advised by JJ I disabled embedding to allow the URL to appear instead of the actual youtube video thanks JJ et al et Ron
usung the "pwn" version you will reach the download link page on http://www.deturl.com
you will have the choice of downloading either the basic flash video file
video.flv which is only101MB sorry Ron Meason just set it up then retire for the night
or if you prefer to choose the "high quality version , an Apple Quicktime file video.mp4 but that is all of 163MB.
Either way you will then have to rename the file else next time you download you might overwrite it.

quotes of the interview have to be
"i'm wondering how many more women may show up in my life"
and "not going to get involved it's too expensive"
I noted that he claimed 220 songs that he penned are on record
which just might be the definitive answer we were looking for a while back

Thanks Char & John for telling me it is Bernie Fiedler. I got pics of him in music books, and the Maynard Collins book... He was just younger. :)

Yes jj we do have CBC radio down here, and I saw him many times on TV.
No need to a link called; "Stuff Jesse Joe missed" !!!
And I did see that You Tube video where a fan bonks Gord on the head with some cardboard thing, I notice that Gord didn't laugh when it happened.
Thanks again ~

1.OK I fully intend writing a detailed tutorial on the various ways one can make screenshots,an essential part of my repertoire as you noticed
I fact I drafted part of it whilst waiting in a doctor's waiting room yesterday while the doc attended to my stepdaughter.
2 an online fellow student in 2001 always called it Exploder instead of Explorer
and I taught it kinda funny, as is Windoze

Now on this video at around 6 min, 50 sec; that beautiful old Victorian Mansion at 5 Beaumont Road (Rosedale) is showed pretty good. This would make a great pic to save if you can do it Sir John. I would copy & paste it for sure. Good desktop photo, and even print it...
The other one that I have who I think was taken by CHar, only shows so much of that lovely mansion, once home to Lightfoot :)
