this list is still building but there's more than enough to choose from already...or add your own...as per usual, there are no prizes

hey, you guys love your pillows, eh?

maybe you gotta be a guy but falling asleep with your head drooped over the side of the mattress while reading something lying on the floor is 'awesome' (ok, maybe 'unhealthy' is a better adjective)....having your head lower than the rest of your body seems to give you odd dreams...perhaps something to do with an over abundance of blood surrounding the mind

ok, i had to toggle and check out your numeric lists...it's as if you were divulging your hushed selections in code, lol

i picked a few myself and have just pasted links for the lazy:)

1)

http://1000awesomethings.com/2009/01/16/850-absolute-perfect-silence/

father used to request silence for periods of time in the 7 person household where I sprouted, I hated that….now I love those rare instances in my own abode…the best part is breaking that silence with a crackle of a old fave (eg. Lightfoot) LP on the turntable

2)

http://1000awesomethings.com/2008/11/14/895-getting-something-with-actual-handwriting-on-it-in-the-mail/

it’s rare these days, isn’t it….on the other hand, it’s great to send a handwritten card also....even occasionally printing and mailing a few photos with some scribbles on the back that’ll mean something more one day to the recipient, instead of e-mailing jpgs…

3)

http://1000awesomethings.com/2008/12/02/883-ugly/

I think it’s a crime when beautiful actors are made up (and/or prosthetics used) to be ugly, taking away roles from wonderfully ‘glamour challenged’ character actors

What I really enjoy is seeing a film where I don’t know one single actor in the cast

4)

http://1000awesomethings.com/2009/02/18/827-saying-the-same-thing-as-a-sports-commentator-just-before-they-say-it/

as one reader points out, this is even more gratifying when the majority of the folks you’re watching with, vehemently disagree with what you’ve stated…of course just cos the commentator (eg. Don Cherry) reinforces your opinion, doesn’t mean it’s valid

5)

http://1000awesomethings.com/2009/02/16/829-smiling-and-thinking-of-good-friends-who-are-gone/

this happens frequently, some are friends, relatives but many are elder patients who I’ve come to know in my field (so much wisdom can be absorbed if you listen to ones who have experienced the highs and lows that come with a lifetime)…I used to accompany an old pal to ball games back at Exhibition Stadium, a diving accident had confined him to a wheelchair…after watching the team thump Chicago the other night, I was thinking of how he’d have loved the hot start the Jays are off to this year…even though more accessible, he never liked Skydome but glad he lived to experience the 92, 93 seasons...it's not the deepest of examples is it, but it did make me smile/grin/nod...doug & i shared many a chuckle ....i still use many of his quirky expressions

#4 JJ - I do that with sports colour commentary and some TV shows..I'll spout the dialogue before the actor..Lisa thinks I'm a genius/annoying.. And NO - I didn't see the show at another time!
lol

#2 - I'm a handwritten card person a lot of time. Just posted several yesterday..
Thankyou cards are a definate 'mail' card.

#1 - silence is fab.
when i did daycare and they would all leave I would listen to the silence.
