wonderful through the link to John Stinson's promotional site
http://www.lightfoottribute.ca/
I found his youtube channel and have subscribed
http://www.youtube.com/results?search_type=&search_query=002002jes
the channel now has 24 covers by John , most in a noisy club like those that Gord started out in where the singer has to compete with crowd noise and hockey or curling on the room's television.
but there are few outstanding videos recorded with Paul Barttlett in rooms in East York Toronto presumably at Paul's home or in John's home
Including an awesome cover by the pair of Inspiration Lady,
the song I was honoured that Gord sang for Susan and myself at my specific request in Las Vegas in May 2005.
The song is in fact Inspiration Lady ...with an "s "!!

Also I especially liked John's tribute to Red Shea that he posted in the description for his video of Go Go Round at:-
YouTube - Go Go Round - Gordon Lightfoot - cover
I took Guitar lessons from Lightfoot's first lead player Red Shea. There are many of us who have. Of course he passed away last year and I miss him. We weren't close friends but friends enough and he lived in my town of Aurora, Ontario and we were also neighbours. Anyway, I remember working with him to get the lead parts for this song. Red was always more than willing to plod through trying to get me to get the thing almost right."
Almost!! Too modest by far young John bloody close I'd say
I have one request John.
could you try to do a cover of "Face Of A Thousand People"
You should be able to nail it then perform it at McVeighs come November
(a duet with Mrs Jones' little boy from Vancouver maybe!!)
