Here's a rather pleasant version of EMR.

I always thought Reed was like a more animated John Prine. He had a lot of fun.

I always enjoyed Jerry Reed. His sense of humour was crazy but he could make me laff just by giving a smirk at the camera..
And he had a lovely voice and played guitar beautifully.
There's a strong resemblance to the young Jerry's looks and Gord's as well.

I really liked that rendition of EMR.

Love Jerry! Can do without the 70s era Ray Coniff-ish strings, but I won't knock producer Chet Atkins -- a legend. Great vocal and fingerstyle guitar in this!

Jerry Reed was a great talent, and probably doesn't get the credit he deserved. Thanks for posting this.

Absolutely. The man could play like nobody's business, had a great ear for a song and was a heck of a lot of fun to boot.

I have to confess to never having heard of Jerry Reed before.
So I played another youtube video:-
Jerry Reed Discography
YouTube - Jerry Reed Discography
An unusual video that very nicely encompasses one singer's career and disc output.
JJ if you watch it it should give you ideas for a similar tribute video for Gord, with one song per album . I challenge you to do create it!!
After which I was a bit wiser although I have to say that not one of the featured songs rang any sort of bell.
After I started drafting this I found that Jerry wrote:-
"A Thing called Love"
YouTube - Jerry Reed "A Thing called Love"
which of course I do know from the Johnny Cash recording
YouTube - Re: Johnny Cash - A Thing Called Love
I also looked at another youtube offering built around Elvis' rendition of that song
