Interesting article - even strictly amateur home videos with a radio playing a song in the background are getting yanked. Warners apparently never heard of the fair use doctrine.

The great loss of the Lightfoot Tribute Channel hit us all hard. I can imagine how hard it hit TJ,Tom, Lynn and the gang. A lot of hard work went into all the videos. Yes it's
true that some people may only watch and or download the videos. But a lot of people have gotten exposed to Gordon's and all the other artists music though these sites and videos. I don't know how exactly how the loss and or gain of music sales from people watching youtube could ever be properly calculated. I do know that the all of the artists have gained exposure (no not that kind of exposure, although some have.), through the internet.

I have discovered a lot of new music from watching various groups or artists that were unknown to me. I have bought their music and spent money because I knew for sure that I liked them and didn't have to wonder if I would just like a track or two and skip the rest.
I think it's really sad that so much of the music is being pulled off of YT. I know that there are two sides to the story...there always is :) I just think that the exposure that musicians get on YT is an asset that is being overlooked by Warner's executives.
I miss the Tribute channel, too :(
