This will be quick. I am sure this has come up.

Is this true??

Did Lightfoot write the music to this as the video says.

It would appear to be tune to the "Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald", give or take a note. I think that's the gist of the question?

this falls under the category..."there's nothing new under the sun"..

tx for the advise...."use the search" ...feature...

I have worked in computer field all my life and it reminds of the the often heard quip ... " RTFM" ...read the ___ manual" ..

:)

I found the references and am now satisfied.

don't feel bad...after a decade here i finally stumbled on a use edit options feature where i could change a whole whack of things including have newer posts appear at the top of a thread... meaning i no longer need to scroll through my prior diarrrrreha of text, embedded images and videos to get to the fresh stuff...too easy

I don't have the time to right now to even do a search...And it wasn't something I was curious enough about to look into further..

hey, Pam...i wish i could type quicker...i could do about 10 searches in the time it would take me to type a post of 100+ words, lol

every time the threads came up it became more confusing as to what the facts were but i conclude, untrue

doesn't sounds like you lost sleep during the past year over this but now you can rest semi-assured:)

i agree, post away, discuss, anything goes, new or old...sorry, i've nothing to more to add...i've never been taken by this melody...glad this classic brought Gord to the modest fame in the US and served as a wonderful tribute:)

enjoy, Pam:
