gee, I wonder if Jimmy Buffet performed CRT at the Newport Folk Fest last weekend??

http://www.boston.com/ae/music/articles/2008/04/17/new_folks_at_newport_rock_festivals_traditions/

As much as I would have loved to have gone...I work Friday and Sat. nights and just put the folk fest out of my mind :(. And to think...my excitement that weekend was cheering on a customer who was challenged to devour 60 hotwings

Was talking to a customer tonight who insisted that she heard on the radio last week that Gordon was at the Newport Folk Fest last weekend. I told her I hadn't heard and kept asking her if she was sure. again, she insisted that's what she heard and she had thought of me (she knows I'm a fan).

So know I wonder if gee...maybe he got up on stage and performed CRT w/Jimmy Buffet!!! And the thought of that just sounds so kewl, but I would kick myself for missing it (and business was slow the past 2 weekend where I work :()

thanx for the set lists brink! Must have been great, some awesome tunes there. Getting home from work so late last night - I hadn't had a chance to do many searches so glad you posted this. I don't know how serious Buffett was when he had mentioned CRT last April - or perhaps was just giving people an example of the types of songs he'd been doing.

I haven't come across anybody I know who went to the Folk Fest but I'm sure it was great! Nice weather too! I can't believe I let it slip my mind, I really wanted to go and one of the reasons I left my other job (working full weekends) was to free up some time to go to the folk fest and do other things. And Newport is one of my favorite places to go . At least I did get to go for a day trip last Fall.

and thanx for posting the video AOTA - I love it!

He must have had a frisky crowd! Yep, big JB fan. Radio Margaritaville plays Gord at least once a day and Jimmy says that Early Morning Rain and Silver Wings are his favorite airplane songs. Nice to see you back dj in mj.

Funny the video says 1973 but I thought it was 74.

Too bad that. I think Buffet would have done an excellent version of CRT.
