Hello,
One of my favorite songs is "Too Late For Praying".. It never fails to bring a tear to my eyes. It is so powerful. Has anyone ever asked Gordon the story behind it?

Yes it's one song that can definitely put you in a sober mode. Not sure what was goin' through his mind when he wrote it...

Hi Kevin,
I think "Too Late For Praying" is one of the most beautiful and heart wrenching songs I have ever heard.
I can't say what his thoughts were, or the story behind the music, but I think most of us have those moments when we raise our eyes to heaven and ask 'why'?
Our world is not a gentle place for the weak or helpless and sometimes I feel like God is too far away...a bit removed from it all.
When I feel that way I think this song will make it easier to get through.
It makes you remember that other people have that same sense of helplessness and frustration but that it passes..when it does, you take one step at a time and begin again to try and make a difference.
That's about all any of us can do.
Well, that and pray and know that it's never too late for a prayer.
That would be wonderful if we could someday hear what Gordon has to say about this song.
It really is a masterpiece!

Thank You for your kindness Jesse Joe.
You always make people feel welcome around here and that's a very nice thing for anyone to feel.
That song says so much about the sad things in our world but there is also lots of good things and wonderful people that make it all worthwhile...guess it's good to always remember that as well.

I've listened to it many times, and the only thing I can figure is that he's telling it like it was back then. Sad to say that apparently things don't seem to be any more differant now than it was when the song was first released.

Nope, not much different in the world since then....
Change takes a long time though. I see a lot of good in the kids that are growing up today...there may be some hope in the days to come.
