A very interesting find young man.
IIRC (If I Remember Correctly for the unitiated) a few years back on Val's comprehensive GL fan site she had a link to the MMM website where they at the time had a video of the MMM IYCRMM that you could play on demand, the only problem was that for unknown reasons their video was in Black and White.
I used to have the link somewhere but lost it and I think that the last time I tried it the video had disappeared anyway. So it is nice to have acces to a colour version

Great stuff, Jesse Joe! Thanks! Headin' over to youtube now to add 'em to my faves.
P.S. Left Detroit about 18 years ago and access to CBC TV is one of the paucity of things I miss. Didn't even need cable to get it. Came out of Windsor.

Really glad you enjoyed those songs Paul, it was a great Intimate & Interactive program. I thought Gord was very sharp at answering the questions that were directed to him. :)

You talkin' to me ? I think I remember what you're referring to, but 10 days is usually the limit of my memory retention capabilities.
No, I have never seen the entire show.
Thanks for the thought.

the colour links disappeared...but you play this one anytime you 'demand'
it wasn't CBC that produced this one...pretty much the only place you'll see music performances these days is on QTV...used to see some on Sunday Report but no more Rita, Benmurghi, etc...not even Bullard on CTV (although most of those guests played urban junk)
speaking of Benmurghi and the Friday Night live show, i remember this performance so well (pre-Lilith), never took to the full produced, rhythmic version of this cool track...saw it live and was also there for the last show when the axe fell

It is really amazing that this thread has resurfaced at this time.because an anonymous member of
http://www.tapecity.org named jelinto has recently seeded two (Bit)torrents of this great 1999 CHUM Toronto television special
http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/LIGHTFOOT/images/intimate_torrents.jpg
there is a video collection ( a set of vob format files which are presumably the complete set of files as copied from a DVD's video_ts folder and from which therefore the DVD may be recreated) the set of files is a mighty 4.96GB so only those with a broadband internet connection should try, unless they have oodles of patience
the seeder has also created a second torrent by encoding just the songs ( by removing all of the talking) as losslessly compressed flac format audio files totalling just 293.26MB and from which an audio CD may be burned
If you were to register as an anonymous member at tape city you can then search for other GL torrents the results of which will also include at this moment
sound only file sets of the two PBS Chicago shows 1973's Made In Chicago and Soundstage 1979
also
Frankfurt 1975
the 1977 Cerebral Palsy Benefit broadcast from New York's Avery Fisher Hall
the 1976 Montreux festival broacast
Also the
JOHNNY CASH SHOW, Jan 20/27, 1971, ABC-TV SHOW (NTSC DVD)
which includes Gord singing IYCRMM
I am planning a simplified "bare bones" tutorial on torrents
"What they are; how to find; how to acquire them then what to do with them. but if you do not already know here are a few tips:-
read about them at the wiki:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BitTorrent_(protocol)
digest the FAQ at
http://btfaq.com/serve/cache/1.html
in particular the second paragraph on the linked page
http://btfaq.com/serve/cache/3.html
which uses a brilliant analogy of a group of book readers sharing the pages of a book,
download a torrent "download control" program (recommemded is the tiny mutorrent or microtorrent from
http://utorrent.com
(arguably the very best small program (only 282 KB) ever written)
install utorrent
in options>preferences>directories enter where you wish the downloads to be stored
find a torrent by googling (or binging) for (item name) torrent
only use results that have seeders and are a free download of the torrent and the associated media fies (never pay for either)
save a (usually) very small *.torrent file where you can readily find it
click on the saved file it should sport the green utorrent icon
http://www.johnfowles.org.uk/Tutorials/images/utorrent_logo.jpg
you should next see a box listing the files that the torrent would download yu can deselct any tyou do not want then accept it
utorrent should then immediately open
note that downloads should automatically resume after an internet reconnection
be patient
run a few virus/malware programs such as Malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/\)
because "you never know"
be patient
Enjoy!!
Note that if an audio torrent's files are in the flac (Free Lossless Audio Codec) format
you can get a codec from:-
http://www.xiph.org/dshow/
to play them in Windoze Media Player withourt converting them to wavs
you can burn an audio CD directly from flacs if you use the freeware burrrn program
http://www.burrrn.net/?page_id=4
Finally Please if anybody including our Charming moderator has any problem with this or any queries send me a Private Message seeking elucidation
or the late Lucy who I understand is now in the Sky with her Diamonds
