Okay Claudia,

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help with your California visit. The weather should be wonderful at that time of year. :)

If that's as close as he gets to Sacramento I'll be there!

Doug,

It will probably take you 3 to 3 1/2 hours to drive there. It will take us about 4. Any chance you two can come to the other shows down here? :) How about Humfries? :) :)

I have tix for the Agoura Hills concert already and are 'aiming' for San Diego as well. Kerstin and I are planning to visit the Taylor factory down there - better clutching our wallet real tight...It'll be very tempting.

A second one wouldn't hurt... ;) I understand Kerstin has a good Taylor, she told me about it in the past.

Trying to find an excuse... If you got the mun have fun.  :headbang: :)

Hi Claudia,

if you're in CA already you should go to all the concerts over here. Would be a waste otherwise ;)
I'm looking forward to the Taylor factory, too. Will be special to see the place where my guitar was born. I'm secretly hoping they don't sell any over there. It would be too difficult to leave without one otherwise. But I do think Jesse once said that you can never have too many guitars.....so there!

Enough trying to offer what you can do in eachother's backyard. I expect all my sisters to be front and center for all four concerts in CA. If they add more, we will be there too. By the way Sister Pam, that includes you too. :) :) :)

K, DSR & we all gotta stay in shape and sometime get over to New Hartford, CT. I was checking out sounds of guitars with my son Levi one day and I loved the sound of an Ovation guitar. Levi told me that it was made of carbon fiber. He told me that carbon fiber was used to make the A380 and the stealth bomber. I asked him what the A380 was and he said it's a passenger jet that's bigger than the 747. He also tells me that some company called Scale Composites uses carbon fiber to make most of their airplanes and that their CEO's name is Burt Rutan. Also carbon fiber is used for wind turbines and professional racing kayaks and paddles, and McLaren Supercars.

Hi Patti,

I saw an upright bass made out of carbon fiber on TV once and the guy who tried it said it sounds really good. I'll have to check out that Ovation on the internet. :)

Hi Patti,

<snip> I'll have to check out that Ovation on the internet. :)

Just a quick note here, as long as you're talking about Ovation guitars. Only the back is made of the carbon fiber not the whole guitar. Glen Campbell made them quite popular.

Some kewl history here:

Doug, you beat me to it. Glen Campbell has been playing Ovation Guitars since well seems forever. And he sure can pick it good.. :)

I have a Harmony "S". I got it for Christmas 2006. There was a tag on it that said Dreadnought. I just loved the sound of it when I first heard it. When I checked out the sound of several other guitars in the store, I felt even more happy about the sound of mine. I don't know what kind of an Ovation I tried out, but it sure sounded nice. My guitar has to put up with me practicing. It will be nice to hear it sing someday. I'm very much a beginner and just learning to practice every day. I have small hands with long fingers, and I really don't know yet what guitar neck is supposed to be best for me. I really like the guitar that I have so my hands will just have to get used to it.

Patti

That Ovation I took a little strum on was black and had a strong look to it and made me think of heavy metal.

Well, if Gord would take me (yeah, right). I would love to go to all of them, but no money and even if I could afford it, it sure sounds like a hard time for people to get good seats. Probably just not meant to be for me. It's alright.

Sorry Jesse Joe I wasn't trying to make you feel bad. The education about the carbon fiber guitars was good. Not everyone has heard of this type of guitar. It's okay you can stop crying now. I am not mad at you. LOL :) Some days I am so silly.

Let's get you to a concert.

Hi Jesse,
no I'm not quite in Kentucky yet, just trying to get some work done in the office now and then (not very successfully at this point, too much going on on the Gord Board!)

And of course checking out if I'm able to go to any more concerts before October ;) ;)

Well since we are on guitars again, I once owned a twelve string GOYA, cousin Podunklander.

Here is one of the most popular guitar in the world to me & Willie anyway...

Willie Nelson's guitar he named after Roy Rogers horse, {Trigger}...

Wonder if our Gord has signed it ?

Willie Nelson named that guitar after Roy Rogers horse Trigger. A lot of performers do that.

I know Canadian rocker Tom Cochrane names his guitars after hockey players . He's got a Gordie Howe aso... :)
