When I try to view those wonderful archive television Lightfoot clips on CBC, I only get the audio. Is it only me or do you guys experience this same problem ?

It's funny that it's only on the CBC archives Site. On You Tube everthing is working properly. Thanks anyway Char. :)

Jesse Joe,

Just thought I'd check and it all comes up fine for me. Video / audio , the whole thing. Have you added or deleted any software lately from your PC ?

Bill :)

Yes Bill I have deleted and have added some. What should I have not deleted ? Or better yet can you tell me what I should add to get those clips again ? Because it is not what Val is saying with me. I used to get all those TV clips audio and video... :)

I contacted Dell Tech, problem is solved. Thanks just the same Bill W, because you were helpful in what you said about deleting software. Much appreciated. :)

Hi Ron,

Some of those videos I get both; sound & picture. While others only the audio. This was after numerous attempts in every way possible by the Dell Technician. Everthing works great on any other Site that has video, including You Tube.

According to Dell the problem is with the CBC archives Site, may be temporary ? :)

some of the CBC stuff might be running on an older version of Windows Media Player or Real Player and you might have a newer version..they need to update their stuff so the new versions are compatible I guess..keep checking back or contact the CBC webmaster..

Jesse Joe,

Sorry for the delay. I'm glad you got someone to help. The reason that I asked about adding or deleting software is because that's our first step in the IT dept. (IT or Information Technology is about the fifth industry name for the same old thing "kumpuuters" since I've been employed.) If something, anything, worked before you made a change we normally suggest that whatever was changed be undone. Then we check to see if whatever was not working is working and often, voila, it is the "change" that has caused what is often perceived as a "problem". I say that because often what people think is a "problem" is not - it's just the way it is.

But as has already been suggested - level incompatability sounds like the culprit.

Bill :)

Thank you Bill W, sometimes I delete things that I dont imagine I need, {bad habit} and then a problem comes up. Im not a computer Wiz by no means. Still learning new things everyday. But then your post got me thinking. It's funny that I do see video from some of those CBC archives clips, and then others just the audio.

My fav one is "trading barbs with Elwood Glover" 03/20/75 :)
