Char,
If you do another phone interview with "the man", it would be interesting to hear his account of the concert work he did with Harry Chapin to benefit world hunger. I've read some short bits and pieces (such as Terry Clements playing lead for James Taylor, John Denver, etc), and he did credit Harry in the Songbook notes.
Thanks! NS

I have only met Gord once. In Reno after a show where I was able to get PeeWee to get me in. How I did that another story for another time

I asked to go backstage to thank him and they let me in. I met Gord. He was gracious, friendly and very talkative. I asked him about Harry Chapin, and how was it doing the four together concert, with Chapin, Denver and Taylor..... It was not long after Harry had died....he sort of paused and said Harry was a great guy.......and moved off into the room. He seemed sad.

I've never been backstage since. Somehow I prefer to leave him alone, enjoy the music. Though my family does get tired of......The Reno story!

There is a bootleg of Four Together, Quality is poor, but brought back lovely memories. So sad that two of them are gone,

Hi banjobench12,

It's been a while, hope your doing ok! Thanks for sharing this story. It's always very interesting to hear something new regarding someone meeting Gordon Lightfoot. I guess he was sort of in a sad mood that day.

When you say, "Somehow I prefer to leave him alone, enjoy the music." I kind of like to agree w/ that, somewhat...

Was it The Pioneer Theatre in Reno that you saw him, where he did that recorded concert, we all have on DVD ? :)
