Wow!! 14 dates already! :)

To semi-quote the Dave Loggins song: "Please come to Phoenix in the springtime"! (Or at least summer.) ;)

I don't know when the last time Gord has appeared in St. Louis, MO. It is the 18th largest metropolitian area in the U.S. but he hasn't been in St. Louis in many years. I think, in terms of population, it may be the most overlooked area in Gord's touring. Here's hoping.........

Hey Tim, maybe try sending a note to his office and suggest it. Who knows? maybe it could happen.

Oh-h-h-h-h-h!!!!! He's coming to Onamia, MN. That sounds really good!!!:):):)
Thanks for the update!!!

(P.S. - I haven't been lurking.....I was hacked, hijacked whatever one would call it. I think that things are almost back to normal, except my "favorite places" does't work.
Maybe I have to do them all over again????? At least it's working.:):)

Thanks Peter. I should do that. I did plant the idea in Barry Harvey's mind when I spoke to him at Aurora last September. I would also guess that there is a concert promotion network where promoters in different cities express interest in certain performers. Maybe through radio stations as well -- I don't know. I know Gord would have to already be in the general region in the U.S. to make it feasible. He was within a few hundered miles last year, so that might have been a better opportunity than this year. On the other hand, he seems to frequent Aurora, Illinois annually, so maybe St. Louis would be within the realm of feasibiltiy in 2008.

Does anybody out there have a recommendation to get Gord's Business Office (is it EMP?) to consider a stop at St. Louis?

yes yes yes Tim
approach Mr Harvey by all means
Gord's managemrent comnpany is certainly EMP and their address has been posted here umpteen times and also appears somewhere on Waynes site
I could not find it but found that on his main "Tour" page he says
"If you have serious interest in securing a concert booking for Mr. Lightfoot, please contact his agent -
Stephan Boyd at ICON Performing Arts at the link below."

[img]http://www.lightfoot.ca/lightfoo.gif
which is a link to
http://www.iconperformingarts.com/content/view/33/148/ (http://www.iconperformingarts.com/content/view/33/148/)
which is a page devoted to Gord with contact links:-
LOS ANGELES
1557 Westwood Boulevard, Suite 242
Los Angeles, CA 90024
Tel (310) 734-6130
Fax (310) 861-8087
NEW YORK
1650 Broadway, Suite 1105
New York, NY 10019
Tel (646) 415-9139
Fax (646) 607-9066
NASHVILLE
5543 Edmondson Pike, Suite 147
Nashville, TN 37211
Tel (615) 469-0997
Fax (615) 332-8371
But quite where Mr Boyd is is by no means clear
Hoever there is a staff directory which provides this:-
Stephan Boyd stephan@iconperformingarts.com (stephan@iconperformingarts.com)
with a"new submissions" link at:-
http://www.iconperformingarts.com/content/view/63/168/
also on that site I found
a link to the great high resolution picture at:-
http://www.iconperformingarts.com/images/stories/highresphotos/gordonlightfootcolor.jpg
and a video link that I think opens the linus site's Inspiration Lady video
plus a link to more hi res pictures again those seem to be on the Linus site
As I said I thought I had seen EMP's address on Waynes site so I googled for "Early Morning Productions lightfoot.ca"
nothing turned up, but it was far from a wasted search because
one result read as follows
In harmony: Gordon Lightfoot looks back Sing Out! The Folk Song ... (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1197/is_2_50/ai_n16519941/pg_4)
MANAGEMENT / BOOKING: Early Morning Productions, 1365 Yonge St. Suite #207. Toronto, ON M4T 2P7, Canada: E-mail: rookie@lightfoot.ca (rookie@lightfoot.ca).
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1197/is_2_50/ai_n16519941/pg_1
through 4 (Pages 5 and 6 have nothing to add)
I found a nice 4 page review from 2006 that I had not read before

I rather liked this quote
"Indeed, Lightfoot fronts the band like a maestro wielding a guitar instead of a wand, and with just as much precision"

Hope he comes back through Virginia! No Wolftrap show last year. Knoxville and Ashville would normally be OK, but we'll have a one month old baby at the time.

Hi Bill,

I was at Wolf Trap in June of 2006 and sweltering is a perfect word for the way we were feeling. Maybe they will have a cooler June next year. :) Here's positive thoughts in that direction. Hope to see you there.

Hey Dream Street Rose,

Do you want to be my friend ?... I think your going to break your record of 12 GL concerts in one year. Really happy for you. Bill W told me somewhat about The Wolftrap last summer. It seems like a super venue. Kerstin and the others that know you, are really lucky to have a great person like you for a friend. Have fun & enjoy Lightfoot concerts all you can. :)

Hello to all my friends, and hello to those who don't consider me a friend. LOL

Just wanted to let you all know that the tickets for the concert at Wolf Trap will not go on sale until late March or early April. I will let you know after the first of the year if I find out.

Hi Elizabeth, I do hope to be there. We have older friends in the DC area we want to visit. Just needed a good reason to spend the $$ on an airline ticket. As our friends get older they are not traveling so we need to come to them. So, this way we can also take them with us. After I sent the "older" women the Reno DVD they really wanted to see who makes me act the way I do. This might not make sense but I think you get the picture. Thank you for thinking of me. :):

As far as I'm concerned the more the merrier. And if she's OK by "The B" then she must be a cool person. Hopefully it will be a normal June day this time. I'll never forget the heat that day, LOL.

FL please tell jbt that it wouldn't be the same without you guys. And really, how many more years can we count on him stopping in our "general area" ? I know it's a little bit of a trip for you (and us) but well worth it. Hope we can make it happen in 2008.

Perhaps we could all get tickets in the same row ? Now that's a novel idea, eh ?

Woo Hoo and Glenside!!
http://www.agilitynut.com/05/1keswick2.jpg
The Keswick Theatre was designed by Horace Tumbauer in the Tudor Revival style and opened in 1928. Originally, the Keswick featured both vaudeville and movies. In 1980, it closed and faced demolition. Luckily, it was saved and restored in 1994. It is now a performing arts center

So BillW it looks like we'll be seein' you at least once come next June (Just love that Greek food!!)

Perhaps we could all get tickets in the same row ? Now that's a novel idea, eh ?

The funny thing is I have seen Gord twice at this theatre
firstly back in 2002 along with Bru and others then again in 2005 when we dined at a great Greek restaurant Bill had chosen just
over the road from the theatre with Bill Wallace and Lizanne and met Formerly Lavender and her brother, yet on neither occasion do I recall noticing the fine mock Tudor facade, so that when two images appeared in the results of a google image search for Keswick I was agreeably surprised the other picture is:-

Note to self
be more observent next June and take a photo with Gord's name on the billing

In May head to "Greektown" along the Danforth in Toronto for superb Greek cuisine..

Oh good grief - a double blessing as one might call it. Now to quickly justify two nights in a row. Wolf Trap and then The Keswick. "so here's the story dear..." I can almost hear myself now, LOL.

Darn ! I forgot the Keswick policy of selling immediately. I just got two seats in row DD. Not bad but I should have jumped earlier, LOL. Well we were just in row FF for Johnny Winter and the seats were great. But since that year we sat in the front row I'll never look at the back of people's heads the same again...

I know what you mean, Billw. Those tickets in the pit were awesome! I just got two for row EE on the left. I should have gotten on right away, but I'm just happy to have the opportunity to go at all. Maybe we can meet at Athena's again before the show???

BILLW
12-21-2007, 02:02 PM
Yeah you'll be right behind us. They'll be calling that "the rowdy section" after the show is over. Athena's sounds great. And for a novel idea how about we all sit at the same table ? Tell that photogenic bother of yours that we're packing digital. I have this image of him standing in front of the stage waving two beers while eluding security and winking at Rick Haynes, all at the same time. Think he's up to the task ?

And uh Bill if you want to get rid of ANYTHING from the KESWICK let me know. I didn't see this until this morning. Darn...
I know you are all having a good Holiday now. I will try to purchase some tickets today.
MORE GORD, YES!!!!
