Hi Kerstin,

Yes indeed those are some of my guitars, I think about 12 on those pix. I had 22 in all, but some I no longer own... :(:)

Wow, amazing. I'll mention that next time somebody gives me a hard time about owning too many musical instruments. ;)

lol... Next time somebody gives you a hard time about owning too many instruments, tell them Canadian rocker Randy Bachman owns 500 guitars, and Gordon Lightfoot had 28 in his home, on one of his latest interviews. July 1st CANADA DAY on CBC TV, about his Postal Stamp... :)

What a guy that Gord is, eh!

Thank's Dream Street Rose,

Really nice of you to say that. And {BTW} the poet himself is a real treasure... ;) :)

Yes Jesse Joe,

Gordon is definately a treasure. One we don't want to bury. The world is a better place because he (and all of you) are in it.

Rose feels luck to have found this group. How can we do a group hug?

Too many instruments??? That's sacrilegious - like saying you can have too much Lightfoot.
For me, the fun lies in building them.

Maynard Collins / "If You Could Read His Mind"

I do have this fine book, but in my pics, I placed another book in front of the picture, you can only see the title. Now why did I not noticed that, before taking the pic. :(

Hi Yuri,

that's an amazing webside. Thank's for sharing. Ever tried building Mandolins? :) My favourite instrument. Do you sell the instruments you make? I have a friend who builds banjos, but he gets so attached to them that he can't sell any of them I think he has about 32 so far.

Yuri

No Kerstin, I haven't tried mandolins.....yet. I do sell, but to avoid headaches it would be through a local instrument retailer on consignment. If I can get my injury behind me, I might start putting a few on e-bay etc.
I really haven't set up a web page so I just pasted everything on a blog just for something to do. The main page is found here;
http://thunderhouse2-yuri.blogspot.com/
(under each subject there is 'Read More' which brings up photos)
I have experimented with violins which you could check out at the above page or go directly there by clicking here;

I agree with Jesse Joe! Wonderful instruments. Being a bluegrass music person I especially like the fiddle (or violin), of course. It's beautiful.

Hi kerstin,

Do you have any pix of your instruments ? Sure would like to view your Taylor Guitar you once emailed me about... :)

I hope your not in danger way of those fires in California. CNN is on top of every News update as it happens... I really do enjoy my CNN. Larry King Live & company.

Also hope no one else from this board who lives in California is affected by those fires. That's one state I would love to visit, one day, maybe attend The Tonight show w/ Jay Leno.

I find you people lucky to live in the same State as so many big Hollywood Stars.{ BTW} Where did Sheryl from California go, it's been a while since we heard from her... :)

Hi Jesse,
I can take some pictures of the Taylor if you like. I only have the Taylor and my J-50 and the mando here in the US everything else is in Germany cluttering my parents house.
The only problem would be uploading the pictures onto here. I am a computer illiterate as you probably know by now. :)
The fires are not too close to me at the moment. The Malibu one is about 1/2 hour away, already too close for my liking. Thanks for asking.
You can always join Gordquest 2008 and visit California for the Lightfoot shows!

Yea Jesse,
We would love to see you in California. I am sure by then the fires won't be as bad or maybe not started for the season. I have never seen it this bad and I have lived in this area my whole life.

There must be gorgeous biking trails in California. Yesterday afternoon I went Mountain Biking here in the beautiful Centennial Park, and Dobson Trail's in Fundy National Park. Just splendid, the weather felt like summer. You see lots of nature along the way, and in your head you hear Lightfoot songs such as "Whisper's Of The North," "Sea Of Tranquility," to make for a delightful hot afternoon. Anyway stay safe from them Wildfires, DSR , Rose or Dore ?? :)

PS: Have a wonderful safe trip to Phoenix, and dont forget my High Five to B Stone...  :)

Kerstin there was no one more computer illiterate than yours truly. When I sarted w/ my first computer just around 2 years ago Nov 18, 2005, the only thing I knew was how to put it on. But to my credit, I am self taught in electronics. Since electronics has always been of some interest to me.

In the begining I had many hours of conversation w/ the Dell people support group in India. They taught me a lot. And our favourite tutor Sir John Fowles did show me many things I probably would have not been able to figure out myself, such as burning Cd's and more... For that John I will always be greatful Thank's again... :)

You see in my schooldays, computer was not in yet. Today I hear that Grade 1 students are starting on the computers.

So times they are a changing..{Dylan}

I find that what one learns and figures out himself, will stay up there in our {coconuts computer} LOL

Try posting your pix, ask around, Im no good in teaching anyone maybe Prof, Fowles ? He will probably hate me for naming him ...

If nothing happens you can surely mail them to me, or someone closer to you, it's your choice of course. Any pix you would like to see on Corfid I would try to put them on for you. Then send them back to you w/ a Lightfoot Postal Stamp of course. Addresses would be kept confidential... If your interested, {PM} me Kerstin.. And stay safe from these wild fires... :)

Hi jesse,

thanks for offering. I can email you some pix if that works for you.
As for trails over here in California: I know there are lots of good trails for hiking as we used to do a lot of that and trail riding of course. Never tried mountain biking though. :)

Dedicated hikers love N.B. trails

FREDERICTON (CP) - Dedicated hikers Marianne and H.A. Eiselt have trekked in such far-flung places as the Himalayas, the Grand Canyon and Alaska, but the trails in their home province of New Brunswick still hold great appeal.

The Eiselts, who are both instructors at the University of New Brunswick, recently released the third edition of their book "Hiking Trails of New Brunswick" (Goose Lane Editions), which profiles 116 trails.
Asked to name her favourite, Marianne Eiselt cites two trails: Sussex Bluff, a one-hour hike in the southern part of the province, about halfway between Saint John and Moncton, with spectacular cliff-top views of Dutch Valley; and the three-day Lighthouse Trail on Grand Manan Island in the Bay of Fundy, with the possibility of whale sightings.
The 40-kilometre Fundy Footpath is among her husband's favourites.
The pair recommend taking a topographical map and a compass on anything but the shortest hikes. A cellphone can provide a misplaced sense of security, since most backcountry areas are not covered," they write.
