Here's this years choices:

Van Halen (finally!)

R.E.M. (Good choice but I still want more of the older acts to get their turn)

Patti Smith (Awesome!)

The Ronettes ("Be My Baby"! :) Could ya wait until they're any older? Sheesh!

Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five (Yep,rap is now 100% legit in the rock field. I know what some might think but times do change, whether we like it or not. (I do like it by the way.)

Well there they are! Tune in,in the year 2020 when The Moody Blues will finallly get in!

LOL! :D

I hadn't heard the new inductees. I can't argue with Van Halen. It does seem a little soon to be inducting R.E.M. into the Hall, so I agree with Borderstone there. Personally I don't think Patti Smith belongs in the R&R Hall of Fame--even though many artists cite her as influence, I don't think her career stacks up very well. The Ronettes don't really belong in there either, nor does Grandmaster Flash for that matter. Come to think of it, I don't agree with a LOT of the artists selected for the R&R Hall of Fame. It seems like they're letting in some pretty marginal talents these days. Anyone agree/disagree?

You can find the list of all inductees here:

Well W.C. -As far as the Ronettes go,I can only guess they are going in because of the relation to Phil Spector and his wall of sound (and Ronnie being his wife ;) ).

Sorry to tell you,as the years go on,rap artists will be inducted. I can only guess Sugarhill Gang or RUN~DMC would be the next ones. (I think Sugarhill Gang should have been first, since they were the first rappers to hit the top 40 in 1980 at all).

Marginal talent is in the "ears" of the beholder. Some might agree with you, others not. I do find the Sex Pistols to be the most marginal! :D LOL!
