No! .... :D I'm not leaving the site! Perish the thought!
Great news here, yesterday I was hired to a new job at one of our newer shopping malls at a furniture store! :D I "will" be making much more $$ than I ever did at the hotel next door to here. :)
I start on June 12th (the day before my birthday! :D )and will work Mon - Fri. 9am to 6pm and no,I repeat,no weekends! I just gave notice to my current job and will be done by the end of the week after next.
This also means, given the hours,I may not be on here as often as before. ...but I will check in on the weekends, weekdays if possible. Hopefully though, this job will lead me back to having a home PC again (a modern one! )
Anyhow, just wanted to share that with you all. My mind is still trying to absorb this. It seems surreal right now. Then again,my life is like that anyway. LOL! :D
Later!

Hey B,
Congratulations, I hope you really enjoy your new job. Keep us in the loop and remember to tread lightly when you start. Now we're going to have to refer to you as "The Chairman Of The Board"... Best of luck !
Bill :)
(for anyone 'slow' reading this: furniture store = chair + man gives us 'chairman' and it's a good natured joke is what it is, LOL)

Great news and lots of success (and $$$) to you, B!
It's also great you're pleased with your new working hours. On the contrary, I'm one of those few oddballs who can't stand mon-fri daytime. So weekend all-nighters suit me just fine. :)

Well,Misty I wont be selling it (I'm a lousy sales-person :D ,I don't care what my astrology sign says!)
As I said though,I'l try to pop in on the weekends and who knows...maybe I'll finally reclaim a home PC advantage. ;)
Might even (in the distant future) start up my own website. About what,I have no idea.

Oh my! Am I nervous. tongue.gif  Just completed one of two shifts left today and now my stomach's doin' a dance called the butterfly!
Sunday,I'm going in at 6am and once I check out,a big piece of time in my life comes to a close. It's always weird when one thing ends in your life and something new starts isn't it?
This is what I've wanted and now it's here. The only way I'd be more nervous is if I either was getting married or signing a big paying record contract!
Wish me a good last day tomorrow folks...I need it! :)

Good Luck,

Best wishes,
DQ Groan.actually I suspect that the "shift" B was talking about was a working shift not shifting furniture!! (That follows later)
all the best Walter in your new career as a
purveyor of items to sit down upon. no doubt you will only be a stranger there for a short while!!

Hey,D.Q. & Brink....you stole my joke! LOL! :D Would you be so "reclined" as to tell me why? :D
Oh brother!
Anyhow,it's been an hour now since I did my final clock-out @2:13pm. I have a souvenier to recall the day by,my legs are sore and a bit tight! OW!
It felt like I did nearly 1/2 of the things I've done there for years.
...and what "was" the very last thing?
I pushed a carpet sweeper,wow.
Well,Bill...no card & cake but one of my supervisors got 3 pepperoni Domino's
Pizzas and we all shared! :D -Yum!
They also gave me a new suit &...no wait, that a prison movie I saw last night! :D
Also,I'm working for a place called "Brueners" (broo-ners). 1 hour by bus,but not a trip I haven't made for other jobs.
Thanks once more and now that the weight is off my mind,I can relax. :) Whew!
Last clock out...yay!! You can dream, write, read or any number of things on the bus...

Just leaving a note to say that tomorrow (Sunday) will be the last time I have a multitude of "time" to post here.
I'll be working the hours I mentioned above and wont get home until just after 7pm. :(
Library doesn't close until 9pm but after a 9 hour day, would you want to go anywhere but home?
Of course,if & when I receive Misty's used laptop,that might change. Otherwise,as said before...there's still the weekend. ;)
Gonna kind of miss being here "everyday",but then again,it's a good thing to focus on a new goal in life too. :) Later!

Those 1st 2 weeks of work are the roughest; if you can get through them, you've got it made.

Congratulations!

Diane [/QUOTE]That's true, too. But for me they were the roughest because I didn't know what all to do, plus I didn't know any of my co-workers, and if you're not used to working the longer hours (in Stone's case). :)

F. Away! :D Me,not used to working long hours?
When I first started at the hotel,I had nothing but long hours! can you say,8? 10? 12? 14? 16?!!
Good $$$,true but man, talk about exhaustion! Aside from hosting I also was a banquets houseman,meaning...I set up rooms for dinner functions and meetings. That meant ligfting tables & chairs, getting linens and making sure the entire thing looked "perfect"!
I've worked many a long hour and many different shifts AM and/or PM.
Now,I'll be on a permanent 8 hour day and can go home at night like a normal human being. :)
Regarding that,I'll say now,see you all next weekend. ;)
Don't worry,be here sooner than you know it!
Been the B,catch-ya later!
