Today, while watching CNN at work, they did a brief story about how today was the 25th anniversay of the end of The Iranian Hostage Crisis.
I definetly remember where I was. Like most of America,I was watching Ronald Reagan get sworn in on TV (I was in my 7th grade English class but we dropped everything to watch this.) While i was fascinated at learning how a president gets sworn in,I was getting bored by Reagan's speech (like any normal 12 year old. :D )
Nothing woke me up faster than hearing Reagan announce that the hostages had just been released! That (at the time) kind of made it a great day. As most know, the hostages were held there for 444 days. November of '79 to Jan. '81.
Those that don't know, this situatuion was what brought about the ABC news show,"Nightline". 3 days into their captivity,Ted Koppel started keeping America informed about it. After it was all over,ABC kept the show.
Right now,I'm just hoping and praying for the one hostage over in Iraq.
