Around thirty years ago, I've listened to a song on the radio. My guess is that it is a GL song. I've tried to reach it, but needless to say... Could you help me?
The lyrics as far as I recall were:
Touching you
In the midnight blue...
-
Word's can't tell... etc.
Thanks and greetings from Mexico City

No way Jose.
Usually you can bet on it that if a song exists then the chances are that however obscure somebody will have the lyrics on a web site somewhere.
Then a google for some phrase in the lyric will locate it but in your case, and you may well have tried this already googling for various groupings of the lyrics you quoted gets absolutely nothing remotely close.
In any case I expect others here will agree with me that your quoted snippets do not seem to be from one of Gordon's lyrics. Stands back to allow resident ferret Auburn Annie to say her piece!!!

Sorry to disappoint you
When it’s midnight on the meadow And the cats are in the shed ...
(with a hot tin roof)??
Put me somewhere east of midnight
West of the turnpike
Anywhere I wander is where I'll take my rest
When the words turn the minutes to hours
Freedom’s just another word For nothin’ left to lose
The words of love you sent me

If we can expand upon what might be in the "etc" following the line "Words can't tell" we might get somewhere. Midnight Blue was sung by Melissa Manchester, wasn't it? It would be kind of hard to mistake her voice for Gord's.
