Peter, Paul & Mary Are Back In Business:
Mary Travers of Peter, Paul & Mary, has been battling leukemia, but doctors say there is no trace of the disease following a bone marrow transplant. The group will appear at Carnegie Hall in New York on December 9 after an enforced year off. She has lost about 60 pounds and most of her trademark long blonde hair, but she says she likes it short! It's hard to believe she is 69 years old.

Kris Kristofferson's First Album In Eleven Years:
Kris Kristofferson has signed with New West Records, and will release his first studio album in 11 years. "This Old Road" will be out in March, an intimate production by Don Was, featuring Was on bass and piano, Stephen Bruton on guitar and mandolin, and Jim Keltner on drums.

...Kristofferson, author of such classic songs as "Me And Bobby McGee," "For The Good Times," "Help Me Make It Through The Night," and "Sunday Morning Coming Down," is pushing 70 years old. Promotion of the album will kick off at South by Southwest (SXSW) in Austin, Texas, where Kristofferson will become the first artist ever to hit the March Trifecta at SXSW Film, SXSW Music, and the Texas Film Hall of Fame. He'll continue to tour throughout the year.

The Austin Sessions from a few years ago is a terrific compilation of Kris songs sung with several duet partners like Vince Gill and Jackson Browne.
