The Neil Diamond board has been almost exclusively focused on this issue since last Tuesday when he released his 'Rick Rubin special' titled "12 Songs". It is performed by Neil and his guitar...almost exclusively. It's a whole different kind of Neil Diamond. One of the biggest issues for board posters has been the ratings given by reviewers on Amazon.com. Because of the copy-protect software, reviewers are scoring the CD very low. Diamondheads, like Lightheads, are very protective of 'their man' and launched a campaign to try to get Amazon.com to delete any reviews that were not reviews of the music itself. It was considered as inappropriate reviewing and giving a wrong impression for the readers who take the reviews seriously! Amazon.com 'declined' the invitation to do anything but what a flurry of emotions this stirred up. I'm one of the Sony-identified 36% who plays CDs in my computer. Needless to say I will be waiting a while longer before I purchase "12 Songs".
